On-Line Blended Certified Pool-Spa Operator® Course Information
The National Swimming Pool Foundation now has available a blended on-line and classroom version of the Certified Pool-Spa Operator® course. The course allows for only one day of classroom participation, instead of the two days previously required. The same certification is earned, with a passing grade on the exam, as with the full two-day course. Health Departments (including MA and ME) will recognize the blended CPO® certification as long as the exam is taken in the classroom and the student’s ID is verified. A picture ID is required prior to taking the exam.
We at NAC feel this will be a real help to Managers, Supervisors, and others who are confident enough to study on-line and would have difficulty taking two days away from the work environment. We expect a great number of students will still prefer the traditional two-day course, so the two-day course will not change in format and content.

The blended course is broken into two sections.
1. The on-line portion is entitled the Certified Pool-Spa Operator® Primer™. Purchase of the Certified Pool-Spa Operator® Primer™ includes the Certified Pool-Spa Operator® Handbook and an access code for the on-line study portion of the training. The student has six months from activation of the access code to attendance at a one-day Certified Pool-Spa Operator Fusion™ classroom session and completion of the exam.
2. The classroom portion is entitled Certified Pool-Spa Operator® Fusion™. The Certified Pool-Spa Operator® Fusion™ classroom portion includes the second day of instruction, review of the course material, review of state codes, administration of the exam, and certification by the NSPF.
The Certified Pool-Spa Operator® Primer™ course is purchased from the instructor conducting the classroom course which the student will attend. The portions may be purchased separately or combined as a package. When the Certified Pool-Spa Operator® Primer™ is purchased alone, the student may sign up for the classroom portion with any instructor certified by NSPF.
