A regular meeting of the Thomasboro Community Consolidated School District 130 was held November 15, 2016 in room 104 at Thomasboro Grade School.
The following people answered to roll call: Jane Sprandel, William Wilken, Tom Henkelman, Derek Wolken, Erin VanHorn, Doug Mennenga, and Karen Morgan. Others present were Bonnie McArthur—Superintendent, Elizabeth Acton—Principal, Katherine Bartell—Recording Clerk of the Board, Jennifer Bohlmann—Bookkeeper, Brenda Hensch—Teacher, and Julie Quinn—Teacher, Shelley Breymeyer—Teacher, Yeslie Velazquez—Teachers Aide.

Motion to approve the Consent Agenda Items as presented was made by Member Henkelman and seconded by Member VanHorn.

APPROVAL OF REMOVED CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS

TENTATIVE TAX LEVY
This is the 1st year that the levy will not be above 5%. There will be no Truth in Taxation Hearing next month.
IMRF ANNUAL EMPLOYER RATE 2016
The current rate is 6.12% and the rate will go down in January to 5.41%.
2016 SCHOOL REPORT CARD
Mrs. McArthur presented the 2016 School Report Card information to the Board. Last year’s 3rd and 8th grade students performed better than the state average in ELA with the 8th graders also excelling in Math. Grades 4th and 6th grade performed better than the state average in Math. Last year’s 4th grade math, 5th ELA, & 7th ELA was almost even with the state average. The 5th and 7th grade math did not have any students that met or exceeded. Our mobility rate is 20.5% and the state is 12%. We do not offer algebra to 8th graders. Our Chronic Truancy rate matches the state. The state is 9.8% and we are at 9.6%. We offer more P.E. (Health and Wellness) than state-with students participating in P.E. 5 days a week and the state average was 4.
CHRISTMAS PARTY
Mrs. McArthur informed the Board of the time and location of the Christmas Party for the staff and school board members.
ANNUAL FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM REPORT
Mrs. McArthur and our custodian, Mr. Edwards, are discussing and working on correcting the suggestions that were listed in the report.
EXCELLENT STUDENT AND STAFF MEMBER OF THE MONTH
Deane Glabinski in the 5th Grade class was nominated by his teacher, Ms. Bean, to be the Outstanding Student for the month of November, 2016. Our 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Breymeyer and Mrs. Franklin, our Kindergarten teacher, nominated Yeslie Velezquez, our ELL Teacher Aide as the Outstanding Staff Member for November 2016.
BOARD TRAINING
Member Sprandel and Mrs. McArthur have a conference call with Reatha Owen, a service director out of Springfield. They will be working on the agenda for the training; it will be 4 hour training in February.

This month is National Board Members Month. Mrs. McArthur thanked the Board for what they do for Thomasboro Grade School.
