REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL w/ QUOTES

The City of Mount Vernon Recreation Department seeks to retain the services of a professional playground consultant for layout and installation services for the Fourth Street basketball court surface project in the City of Mount Vernon as described below.

SECTION I: BACKGROUND

The City of Mount Vernon Recreation department is seeking installation services for two basketball courts in the City of Mount Vernon. The renovation project will consist of material, layout and installation of two basketball courts at the Fourth Street Playground located. This playground renovation has been long overdue and will contribute to the growth of the city’s infrastructure and recreation facilities.

SECTION II: SCOPE OF WORK

All candidates are required to provide a written quote for material, layout and supervision of installation of two regulation basketball courts as indicated below, as a part of the minimum scope of work that must be provided to the Recreation Department.

Specifications: Provide Material and Design including layout and Supervision of the installation of a tiled sport surface for two Basketball Courts at Fourth Street Playground.

Basketball Court Dimensions: 94' long by 50' wide

SECTION III: CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

The Mount Vernon Recreation department shall award the professional service contract or agreement based on experience with similar projects, merit and cost competitiveness. Therefore, the successful candidate will submit a response to this request for quotes by providing a detailed quote for the following information:

1. Qualifications of the firms who will perform the service or activity.

2. Ability to perform the service or activity in a timely fashion, including staffing and the staff’s familiarity of the service or activity.

3. Cost competitiveness.

4. The Mount Vernon Recreation department and/or Staff reserves the right to conduct an interview or interviews with the prospective professional to discuss the scope of the professional services as outlined in the applicant’s proposal.

5. All Awards or waivers will be by resolution acted on by the Mount Vernon Recreation department.

6. This policy will include, but not limited to, all of the above listed requirements.

7. Any/all questions must be submitted in writing and will be shared with all prospective respondents along with the responses.

All responses must be submitted by Monday, July 13, 2015 at 9am to the Recreation Department. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
