Song of Ascent

Here I Am To Worship

Light of the world, You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes let me see

Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You

CHORUS:
Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that You’re my God.
You’re altogether lovely, altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me.
King of all days, oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came to the earth You created
All for love’s sake became poor

CHORUS
I’ll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
I’ll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

CHORUS

Prayer of Approach

Worship in Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs

Psalm 130

1

Leader:

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!

O Lord, hear my voice!

Let your ears be attentive

to the voice of my pleas for mercy!

Church:

If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,

Lord, who could stand?

But with you there is forgiveness,

that you may be feared.

Leader:

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,

and in his word I hope;

Church:

my soul waits for the Lord

more than watchmen for the morning,

more than watchmen for the morning.

Leader:

O Israel, hope in the Lord!

For with the Lord there is steadfast love,

and with him is plentiful redemption.

Together:

And he will redeem Israel

from all his iniquities.

Worship Leader: “The Word of the Lord!”

Church: “Thanks be to God!”

Blessed Be Your Name

Blessed be Your name

In the land that is plentiful

Where Your streams of abundance flow

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name

When I'm found in the desert place

Though I walk through the wilderness

Blessed be Your name

CHORUS:

Every blessing You pour out

I'll turn back to praise

When the darkness closes in Lord

Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name

When the sun's shining down on me

When the world's all as it should be

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name

On the road marked with suffering

Though there's pain in the offering

Blessed be Your name

CHORUS

BRIDGE:

You give and take away

You give and take away

My heart still wants to say

Lord blessed be Your name (Repeat)

Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be Your glorious name

Indescribable

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming

Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky
And You know them by name
You are amazing, God

All powerful, untameable
Awestruck we fall to our knees
As we humbly proclaim
You are amazing, God

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet, conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom

Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky
And You know them by name
You are amazing, God

All powerful, untameable
Awestruck we fall to our knees
As we humbly proclaim
You are amazing, God
You are amazing, God

Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky
And You know them by name
You are amazing God

All powerful, untameable
Awestruck we fall to our knees
As we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God

Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky
And You know them by name
You are amazing, God

Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart
And You love me the same
You are amazing, God
You are amazing, God

Prayers of Praise and Thanksgiving

Worship in Tithes and Offerings

Above All

Above all powers above all kings

Above all nature and all created things

Above all wisdom and all the ways of man

You were here before the world began

Above all kingdoms above all thrones

Above all wonders the world has ever known

Above all wealth and treasures of the earth

There's no way to measure what You're worth

CHORUS:

Crucified laid behind a stone

You lived to die rejected and alone

Like a rose trampled on the ground

You took the fall and placed the cross, above all

Pastoral Prayer

The Gospel Proclaimed

Series: Triumph of the Lamb: Applying the Book of Revelation to Daily Living

Title: The Last Judgment and the Lamb’s Amazing Grace

Text: Revelation 20:11-15

Message: How to make sure your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life

  1. The Setting: The Great White Throne! (11)
  2. Earth and Sky flee away
  3. “The dead” great and small stand before the throne for judgment
  1. The Judgment: Books were opened: Like a Police Record, a meticulously detailed record of each person’s deedsas the criteria for judgment (12-15)
  2. Who gets judged? A clean sweep of “the dead”
  3. The “dead” great and small, including
  4. The sea “dead,” including
  5. The Death and Hades “dead”
  6. What is the judgment? Raised physically to endure eternal torment
  7. The lake of fire is
  8. The second death is
  9. Getting what you’ve always wanted
  10. All traces of the fall including death itself are also thrown into the lake of fire
  11. The Salvation: One book is opened(v 12, 15)
  12. Nature of the Book
  13. A registry of names, not arecord of deeds
  14. The Book of Life (contrast to death)
  15. The Book of Life of the Lamb who was slain (5:9; 13:8)
  16. The Book belongs to the Lamb who purchased the names by being judged in their place
  17. Passover Lamb of Ultimate Exodusto the UltimatePromiseLand
  18. Substitute Lamb of Redemption from Ultimate Slavery to Ultimate Freedom
  19. The names were written before the foundation of the world (17:8) (See Ephesians 1)
  20. So…they don’t face judgment because their deeds have already been judged in the person of Jesus!
  1. How to be sure that your name is written in the Book
  2. They know their Creator Is Holy and on his Throne deserving of trusting loving serving worship (4)
  3. They know they have not worshipped the Creator like they should have, but instead they have elevated created things, persons, projects in place of their Creator (Romans 1:18-27)
  4. They know that leaving the Source of all Life can yield nothing but the sentence of death..
  5. They know they can’t fix themselves, try harder, be better, erase this record of idolatry. Their best moments are tainted with sin.
  6. They know that God loved them and sent his Son to save them by being their substitute. (1:8)
  7. They rest in, transfer their trust to, depend on, the Lamb, whose blood makes their filthy robes white. (7:14)
  8. They are so moved by this love, loosing them from their sins that they can’t shut up about it. (11:8)
  9. They are fully aware of the Dragon’s craft to intimidate through the Beast, deceive through the False Prophet, and entice through the Harlot and sometimes succumb.
  10. But when push comes to shove, they would rather suffer and die in Him, than live in earthly luxury and safety without Him. They know that to die for Him who died for them is true conquest. (11:8)
  11. They commit themselves to be faithful to their betrothed and to they see the face of their conquering Bridegroom.

Hymn of Response

How Great Is Our God

The splendor of the King

Clothed in majesty

Let all the earth rejoice

All the earth rejoice

He wraps Himself in light

And darkness tries to hide

And trembles at His voice

And trembles at His voice

Chorus:

How great is our God

Sing with me

How great is our God

And all will see how great

How great is our God

And age to age He stands

And time is in His hands

Beginning and the End

Beginning and the End

The Godhead three in one

Father Spirit Son

The Lion and the Lamb

The Lion and the Lamb

CHORUS

Name above all names

Worthy of all praise

My heart will sing

How great is our God

The Word Made Visible

The Mystery of the Lord’s Table

The Lord’s Supper, also called Communion, or the Eucharist, is one of the two sacraments of Christ’s church, the other being Baptism. While Baptism is the sacrament that signifies the new birth initiation into the New Covenant, the Lord’s Supper, patterned after the Feast of Passover, signifies the ongoing New Covenant grace promised to live the Christian life. We invite all baptized members of any Christ-Centered church to join us at this sacred table.

If you are not a Christian, we encourage you to spend this time in meditation. Consider the prayer written in the back of the program to help you come to terms with the Gospel of Christ and be reconciled to God through repentance and faith in Him. Take advantage of our many growth opportunities, be baptized, and join us for this feast soon.

In 1 Corinthians 11, the Apostle Paul urges the church to partake in a worthy manner. To partake worthily requires us to examine ourselves so that we will not participate “without discerning the body.” This phrase is rich in meaning and includes at least four areas of examination. May the following questions guide you in your preparation:

1) Do you really believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior of sinners and do you receive and rest upon Him alone for your salvation from sin, death and Hell, to righteousness, life and heaven?

2) Do you desire to let go of anything in your life that would profane this communion with Christ? How vile it would be to want to hold on to something Jesus had to suffer and die to release you from.

3) Are you reconciled with all members of the Church? “Discerning the body” in its context also requires us to examine our relationships with one another as members of the body of Christ. How can we in good conscience participate in a Supper that showcases the very means of God’s forgiveness if we haven’t forgiven our brother or sister?

4) And finally, do you view this holy Supper as nourishment from your Master to fulfill the purposes He has revealed in his Word for you to accomplish as a member of His body: advancing His kingdom, by His power, for His glory in the world?

Words of Institution: 1 Corinthians 11

Prayer of Confession and Covenant Renewal

We worship you,

Enthroned Ancient of Days, Sovereign Judge, Consuming Fire.

None can defend themselves against your perfect recall of every thought, word, motive, desire, and action committed against your holy will.

No one would have escaped your just judgments were it not for your love for the condemned.

We worship the Lamb you sent, whose blood frees us from our sins and makes our filthy robes white. We thrill to the knowledge that we have been chosen in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in your sight.

Forgive us for forgetting the wonder of this love and living ungrateful, joyless, fruitlesslives nobody wants to emulate. Strengthen us we pray, by your Holy Spirit, that the indwelling presence of Jesus would radiate through us.

We make our plea to you, Father, to transform us in Christ to the point that the quality of our lives would demand an explanation.

Assurance of Pardon

Revelation 1:5-6

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood

and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father,

to him be glory and dominion forever and ever.

(The Apostles' Creed -- Fourth Century AD)

1

I believe in God the Father, Almighty,

Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ,

His only begotten Son, our Lord;

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the virgin Mary;

suffered under Pontius Pilate;

was crucified, dead, and buried;

He descended into hell;1

the third day He rose again from the dead;

He ascended into heaven,

and sits at the right hand of God

the Father Almighty;
