Ceridian response to health care reform law

Ceridian experts have been studying the details of the heath care reform law enacted in March, and have been summarizing key information for employers in a new biweekly newsletter, Health Care Compass. We are posting this and other information at:

We are also posting information on that is likely to be of particular interest to our Health & Productivity customers. You’ll find it in the “Trends” section under “Health and Wellness.”

“Health Care Reform Timeline for Employers and Employees” describes the key changes in the law and their effective dates.

“Breaks at Work Required for Nursing Mothers” describes an immediate change to the Fair Labor Standards Act, one of the first pieces of the health care law to go into effect, requiring reasonable breaks for nursing mothers at work and a private space in which to express milk.It also provides sample policy language.

LifeWorks articles that may be helpful in support of this new requirement for nursing mothers include:

LifeWorks Health newsletter

In February we introduced a new four-page quarterly newsletter to help build awareness and use of the health coaching programs. Beginning this month, we will be sending the newsletter as part of the e-mail in which we send monthly promotional flyers.

If your organization offers Ceridian’s health coaching programs (the “iCan” weight, fitness, cardio, or tobacco cessation programs), the May
e-mail with links to customized flyers will also include a link to the newsletter, customized with your program phone number and online login information. We encourage you to distribute to covered employees or members as a way to build awareness and use of these valuable programs. The newsletter can be sent by e-mail as an attachment, posted to your employee Web site, or printed out and distributed in hard copy. We will be sending it the second month of each quarter (February, May, August, and November).
