Hello WEA

I am voluntarily changing the name of AWE to WEA so that the name is then used by using the attached form.

I will ensure that our names are listed as the steering committee of the new entity.

I have not had discussions about WE NSW that were about making changes. I gave advice to Chris in relation to a question about registering associations.

I have not made any changes or work to the WENSW body because that process is one that we will all contribute to and every association in NSW will also contribute to.

Kind Regards

Mick

Subject: RE: Hi All

Hello WEA reps

I know we have all been quiet lately but somehow i think we have all just had a breather of late...fair enough i think.

I have been informed by Fair Trading that the name Working Equitation Australia cannot be registered as yet.

However this is good news and i will explain below.

1)The reason the name cant be used is because the name is to similar to Australian Working Equitation Inc.

2)AWE will, if you all agree, is submit the appropriate paperwork and have the name changed to Working Equitation Australia Inc. In effect it will have the same outcome as if the name was just registered and we will ensure that the committee is the steering committee of WEA/MOU

Please confirm that this is ok.

The reason this is good is because i had concerns the AWE name could have been plagiarised by some people and the name taken up. This is great that Fair Trading has taken up the view that names should not be similar to each other if they undertake a similar function. I am pleased with that outcome.

The only bad news is that each state must register its own name within the state.

Could i suggest that Colleen applies for the Working Equitation Qld name as soon as possible.

Marg Anderson could apply for the name Working Equitation Vic asap as well because the last time we spoke a couple of weeks ago they had not applied for the Vic name....

If you all agree it seems logical to assume that NSW, VIC and QLD could lead the national body provided it will include the other states as we progress....probably goes without saying i am sure..

I hope you are all well....Kay we anticipate you are recovering so all the best from us.

Glynis we expect you are enjoying the Lusitano stallions....all the best and see you upon your return...

Kind Regards

Mick

Subject: Priorities and Roles etc

Hello WEA

Please see attached some draft proposals to help with the conference call. I believe that the conference call needs to be as efficient as possible and that this may be a way of ensuring we stick with what is important in the time we have.

I have attached a list of priorities and started a list of roles in PDF as our version so far. I have also sent the excel copy so that everyone can add to it with suggestions.

Also see attached a reviewed flow chart. This is provided because the members of the clubs are the critical element of everything that can happen in this sport and it will be a good impression if the members are at the top instead of the bottom. Please advise thoughts? This may be useful for the media release as well so thats why it is being supplied.

Also attached is a state body constitution template.

This is supplied by the Department of Sport and Recreation. The ENSW constitution is currently under review and is not presently a good template to use as a guide.

The DSR also has a range of other tools to help establish sport state and sport national bodies and this will be useful going forward. (considering that standard constitutions can be for any purpose other than sport)
