ENGINEERING HOT TUB RELAXATION
Civil engineering consultant, Graham Crouch, has discovered the perfect way in which he and his family can relax. Almost twenty-five years ago he had a hot tub installed in the family home in Witley, Surrey, by local company Hindhead Hot Tubs.
There are now more than 100,000 homes in the UK with a hot tub. Graham was inspired to own one after travelling coast to coast across the US in 1982. In 1983 he bought a 5ft cedar hot tub from Hindhead Hot Tubs, one of the UK’s pioneers in introducing hot tubs to the country. The hot tub is still running and has been upgraded with a more powerful pump and filter system.
Graham Crouch (64) lives with his partner Angela (55) in a detached Edwardian cottage in the village of Witley. Their daughter, Lucy (35), lives in the local area and has two children – Ruby (4) and Livia 8 months.
Last year, the hot tub was re-sited in their home’s garden and enclosed in Finnish log cabin.
Graham says: “The hot tub is superb for relaxing after a busy day. Angela and I use it at least twice a week, in addition to social occasions when family or friends visit. It’s great for conversation and relaxation.
“The hot tub is really popular with my daughter’s family, particularly my granddaughter, Ruby, who loves it.”
The Crouches have a sauna as well as the hot tub. Graham says: “Everyone enjoys the contrast of going in the sauna and then to the hot tub. It makes you feel particularly relaxed. Adding to the atmosphere we have a stereo system to pipe music to the sauna and hot tub area.”
Graham on the practicality of looking after a hot tub comments: “Hindhead Hot Tubs provides excellent service. Nothing has gone wrong with the equipment and maintenance is simple, involving just a few minutes a week.”
