Infographic of a Compound
Step 1: Select your compound. Think back to the activity you worked on after the test.
Step 2: Find another compound with the SAME ELEMENTS as your compound, but in different amounts. (Example: H2O vs H2O2 same elements, different compound because the numbers of each element are different. You may NOT use H2O or H2O2 as your compounds.)
Step 3: Begin putting together a creative infographic of the compound you chose to research. DO NOT SIMPLY COPY AND PASTE INFORMATION, BUT YOU MAY COPY AND PASTE PICTURES. Use the infographic creation website: Piktochart.com. Share with me when you are finished….not sharing = late!!
Step 4: You must include the following items on the checklist within your infographic:
_____ Clearly identify the name and chemical formula for the compound perhaps with a catchy title
_____ List all of the elements that make up this compound and discuss why the amount of each element is important
_____ Find a different compound made up of the same elements to elaborate on the previous checkpoint
_____ Provide at least one picture of the structural diagram of your compound, more pictures are encouraged
_____ Identify and describe the type of bond that holds this compound together (it may not be one we discussed)
_____ Identify where this compound is found (natural) or how it is prepared (synthetic)
_____ Identify the unique physical and chemical properties of your compound
_____ Provide any historical understanding OR fun/interesting facts you learn about this compound
_____ Identify useful applications of this compound and explain how it has made an impact on our world
_____ Citations for your information
You will also be graded on accuracy and quality of the information/writing style & creativity!
