Therapeutic Philosophy and Approach: I believe the whole person – body, mind, and spirit, are integral to healing and health. Individuals develop to function as well as possible within their given environment, and maladaptive patterns can be brought to health through a comprehensive and dynamic approach including changes in behavior, thoughts, body movement, environment, and emotions. I employ an experiential approach and utilize dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, Gestalt, animal assisted therapy, person-centered and body-centered therapy techniques. I rely on physical and emotional assessment and interpersonal relationship building to promote self-awareness and lifelong change. I abide by the code of ethics as defined in the Oregon Administrative Rules, as well as the ethics that govern additional certificates I hold (CADC, R-DMT, EAGALA).

Formal Education and Training: I hold a Master’s Degree in Somatic Psychology from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Additionally, I am a Registered Dance /Movement Therapist, (R-DMT) an EAGALA certified equine assisted psychotherapist, and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-I). Major coursework included: Human growth and development, Group counseling skills, Couples and family counseling, and creative arts therapies. I have received specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Continuing Education Requirements of the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists requires that I complete 40 hours of education every two years, six hours of which must specifically address professional ethics.

Fees: My private practice counseling rates are $120/individual, $60/group, and $150/family. Assessments are $175. I accept cash and checks. Equine assisted psychotherapy therapy rates are: Assessments/$225, additional sessions are $175/individual, 70$/group , and $175/family.
