Our Topic this half term is: The Vikings

You MUST DO THE FOLLOWING HOMEWORK:

Reading
Read every day and complete your reading journal.

Continue to learn all times tables and the corresponding division facts up to 12 x 12.
*Note to parents: please test your child by asking them multiplication and division questions. / Spellings - Prefix
We can change the meaning of a word by putting a little word called a prefix in front of the word. E.g. legible - illegible
Add a prefix to the following to make the opposite:
1. happy 2. like3. legal 4.kind. 5.patient
6.regular 7. fair 8. comfortable

You must choose 2 options from the table below. You must choose 1 from

the first column. The darker the colour, the more difficult the task is.

Research what a Viking longship or knorrs look like and then create a detailed drawing of your own Viking ship. / Write a short Viking play. / Make your own Viking warrior outfit.
Make your own comic book version of the story of Beowulf. / Make a presentation about how the Vikings came to Britain. You could record this at home, or make a power point to show in class. / Write your own story about Beowulf. Perhaps he has had to go back to save the village from another terrible beast?
Write your own Kennings poem on a topic of your choice. It must have at least 12 Kennings. / Research how the Vikings influenced Britain. What evidence of the Vikings can still be seen today?
/ Make a model of a Viking long boat.
