1. Permitted Structures

(a)  No structures other than tents or other movable dwellings including vans shall be erected or retained on the site without the consent in writing of the licensing Authority.

2. Site boundary

(a)  The boundaries of the site shall be clearly defined by fences or hedges.

3. Pitches and permitted numbers

(a) Total number of units on the site shall not exceed ….. (subject to section 4).

(b) Tent pitches shall be located on the site in the positions indicated by a numbered rectangle on an approved site plan to be displayed on the notice board (see section 14).

(c) Each separate pitch area shall display a marker post conspicuously marked with the same identification as that which is illustrated at the standing on the approved plan and so placed as to be clearly visible at all times.

(d) Tents shall be pitched at the marked positions only.

4. Spacing

(a) Whilst any tent is pitched it shall not be less than 6 metres from any other unit in separate family occupation and not less than 3 metres from another unit in any circumstances.

5. Parking

(a) Suitable areas for parking vehicles and other equipment shall be provided. If vehicles and equipment are permitted within the 6 metres separation (see section 3) between units in separate occupation there shall always be 3 metres clear space between the next non related tent.

6. Water Supply

(a) The site shall be provided with an adequate water supply complying with the appropriate water supply regulations at the time of installation and shall be upgraded as required by new regulations.

7. Drinking Water

(a) Water standpipes with an adequate supply of potable water shall be situated not more than 90 metres from any tent pitch.

(b) All water standpipes shall discharge over a trapped gully surrounded by an adequate concrete apron and connected to an approved waste water disposal system.

8. Waste Water Disposal

(a) A trapped gully, with a grease trap, (separate from those mentioned in section 7 (b) and connected to an approved waste water disposal system, shall be provided within 90 metres of every unit pitch for the purpose of the disposal of waste water.

9. Sanitary Facilities

(a) Communal toilet and showering block(s) shall be provided with adequate supplies of water on at least the following scales:

(i) At least 1 WC and 1 urinal per 30 pitches (or part thereof) for men

(ii) At least 2 WCs per 15 pitches (or part thereof) for women.

(iii) At least 2 wash hand basins per 15 pitches (or part thereof) for each men and women.

(iv) The site shall be provided with at least one shower (with hot and cold water) for each sex per 50 (or part thereof) pitches.

(b) Where the provision of WCs is-not feasible chemical closets shall be provided on the following scales:

(i) Men: 2 chemical closets per 15 (or part thereof) pitches

(ii) Women: 4 chemical closets per 15 (or part thereof) pitches

(c)  Properly designed chemical closet disposal points shall be provided at each toilet block, together with an adequate supply of water for cleansing the containers.

10. Foul drainage

(a) The site shall be provided with an adequate and properly constructed foul drainage system and for this purpose there shall be laid a proper drain (connected to the public sewer) (discharging into a properly constructed) (sewage disposal system) (cesspool) (septic tank with suitable outfall).

11. Refuse

(a) Adequate arrangements for the storage of refuse in suitable containers and subsequent disposal shall be made to the satisfaction of the Licensing Authority.

12. Maintenance

(a) All equipment and facilities serving the site shall at all times be maintained in an appropriate state of repair, cleanliness and in satisfactory order including the protection of water services against frost.

13. Electrics

(a) Where there is an electrical installation to pitches these must be installed to the appropriate regulations at the time of installation.

(b) Work on the electrical installation shall only be carried out by competent persons with the appropriate qualifications.

(c) The electrical installation shall be inspected periodically under the IEE Wiring Regulations every year or such longer period (not exceeding 3 years) as is considered appropriate by the inspecting engineer. When an installation is inspected it shall be judged against the current regulations.

(d) The inspector shall within 1 month of such an inspection, issue an inspection certificate in the form prescribed in the IEE Wiring Regulations which shall be retained and by the site operator and displayed on the site notice board (see paragraph 14). The cost of the inspection and report shall be met by the license holder or site operator.

(e) If the inspection reveals that an installation no longer complies with the regulations extant at the time it was first installed, any deficiencies shall be rectified. Any major alterations and extensions to an installation and all parts of the existing installation affected by them shall comply with the latest version of the IEE Wiring Regulations.

(d) There shall be no overhead electrical cables on site.

14. Fire Points

(a) No pitch shall be further than 90 metres from a fire point.

(b) At each fire point there shall be two water (gas expelled) extinguishers of 2 gallons (10 litres) capacity and complying with British Standards 1382: 1948, or such other appliances as may be agreed with the Fire Officer. Such fire extinguishers shall be contained in an insulated box as a protection from frost. The Extinguishers must be readily accessible.

(c) Forestry Commission type beaters shall be provided at each fire point.

(d) Fire points shall be clearly marked and kept easily accessible. All fire fighting equipment shall be maintained and in good working order and kept available for inspection by the Licensing Authority.

(e) A means of raising the alarm shall be located at the fire point.

(f) A clearly written and conspicuously marked notice located at the fire point shall detail the phone number for the emergency services.

15. Notice Board(s)

(a) The following notices shall be displayed and maintained prominently on a site notice board.

(i) A copy of the Site Licence, with its conditions shall be displayed and maintained prominently on the site.

(ii)  A site plan showing pitches, fire points, water points and facilities.

(iii) The action to be taken in the event of an emergency including emergency phone number and contact details and/or locations for local doctors and hospitals.

(iii) A copy of any electrical inspection report.

(b)  A sign clearly indicating the name of the site shall be displayed at the site entrance.
