SPORTS FORTNIGHT

June 19th – June 30th

We are excited to inform you that from the 19th– 30thJune, we will be holding a Sports Fortnightat St Thomas’ CE Primary! This is a great opportunity to further enhance our already wide and varied curriculum with a focus on sport and physical activity. Sport and PE is a real passion for many of our pupils, and throughout the year many of our teams have participated in and won various competitions and tournaments. Our aim for Sports Fortnight is to provide lots of fun and exciting opportunities to further develop children’s love of sport and physical activity.

Attached is a list of Sporting activities that your child can take part in during Sports Fortnight. Your child can take part in as many activities as they wish to, please note that there may be more than 1 activity that your child can take part in each day so please take care to select only 1 activity for your child per day. Places on activities are limited and will be issued on a first come first serve basis. To secure your child’s place on their chosen trip/activity please send payment with the completed form in a sealed envelope marked clearly with ‘Sports Fortnight’ to the School Office as soon as possible. We will write to parents/carers with confirmation of your child’s place on the trip/activity and with more specific details of the trip/activity your child has chosen.

On Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd June all children will be taking part in ‘African Dancing’. This will be a free of charge activity and will not clash with any other organised activities your child may want to take part in on those days. More information will be sent out nearer the time.

Also to launch our Sports Fortnight we will be holding a ‘Challenge 20’ sponsored activity event on Monday 19th June, the proceeds of which will go to our chosen charity this year –Macmillan Cancer Support. More information will follow about Challenge 20 after half term.
