To improve access to health care by providing financial assistance to low- income children for commercial air travel to obtain special medical care; to promote awareness of our services through targeted outreach programs; to enlist the help of community-minded people through strategic calls to action.
The vision to help children and families in need of specialized care far from home came to fruition in the heart and mind of Miracle Flights founder. Thousands of donors and volunteers across the U.S. combined to make her vision a reality, and to date, Miracle flights has coordinated more than 96,000 flights and 50 million miles of medical air travel.

The Need
OThere are over 7,000 rare diseases affecting over 30 million Americans today. Over half are children.
OExpertise and treatment is often limited to a few specialized medical facilities, which are often far away from home.
O30% of children affected will not live beyond their 5th birthday.
OEarly detection and proper diagnosis is key to hope and a better quality of life.

Eligibility
OAll flights are through commercial airlines.
OFlights for children are for age 17 and under and up to 2 parents/legal guardians. (1 parent/guardian for international arrivals)
OFlights for adults are for age 18 and over and a caregiver.
OPhysician referral and appointment confirmation required.
OSubject to income eligibility.

Job description
Event volunteer Job Responsibilities include: At community event- (informational table/ booth responsibility)
- Greet guests
- Provide information to the general public- Hand out information about programs
- Answer questions about services
- Help as needed
- Event Set-up & Breakdown - Volunteers will set up and/or take down Site signs, Tent signs, Banners
- Respond to inquiries by providing information and directing visitors to appropriate resources.
- Other Miscellaneous Tasks
TIME COMMITMENT:
•Event day volunteers will typically be asked to commit at least 3-4 hours.
SKILLS DESIRED:
•Outgoing and well spoken
•A go- getter/pleasant personality
- dependable and responsible
- Organized
•Creative and detail – oriented
•Ability to exercise good judgment
•A “can do” attitude and desire to learn
•Ability to follow instructions and also work independently
•Sense of humor is a must!
WORKING CONDITIONS:
•Must be able comfortable standing or walking for extended periods
•Must be able to work in a moderate to noisy work environment
