Look at the chart below. The foods shown represent the diet your client is planning to eat tomorrow. It DOES meet the needs prescribed by the food pyramid, as far as recommended servings from each food group. Your client, however, has a medical condition that requires changes in his/her diet… and they need your help with that.

First, determine the total calories or milligrams of the foods shown. Then, without changing the food group, substitute in individual food items in order to reduce the total calories or milligrams.
