Great Hires through Effective Interviewing

Session Outline

This presentation with discussion is best suited for hiring managers and team leads with interviewing responsibilities.

Session Summary

If you have hiring responsibilities you will see immediate results from the information learned in this session. You will learn specific techniques for conducting successful technical interviews that reveal the true technical abilities of a candidate along with additional information about the candidate's professional skills relating to communication, work style and career objectives.

The techniques presented in this session will significantly reduce the number of in-person interviews you and your team conduct for each position to be filled and will empower you to interview candidates with confidence and purpose. The techniques may be used independently or ideally all together, and will not interfere with your existing corporate programs and/or processes. What you learn in this session can be applied to teams of all sizes and structures as well as for interviews that require input from multiple teams.

Learning Objectives

·  Attendees will learn how to save time and increase the quality of their interviews

·  Attendees will discover how to create interview questions and activities that engage candidates in a broader, more telling way

·  Attendees will gain knowledge and confidence about decision making throughout the interview process; when to proceed and how to discontinue

·  Attendees will learn exactly how to set up a process that serves the team, the company and is compliant with OFCCP (Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs) where applicable

Session Style

The entire session is facilitated by Lesa Caskey. The attendees are engaged at the onsite with an invitation to submit specific questions or concepts that they would like to see addressed once they have seen and heard the summary of session objectives. This helps to ensure attendees receive as much beneficial information as is possible during the session. During the session, attendees are offered the opportunity to share their experiences as they relate to the topic being discussed. Ample time is provided after the conclusion for Q&A.
