Will the Minister of TOURISM be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government of Maharashtra has recently submitted the various tourism projects including 'Sindhudurg Coastal Circuit' under the swadesh darshan scheme of the Union Government;

(b) if so, the details thereof, project-wise;

(c) the details of the project for which DPR has submitted by the Government of Maharashtra, project-wise;

(d) the details of the projects approved by the Union Government along with the amount sanctioned and released therefor, project-wise;

(e) the details of the projects which have not approved or are yet to be approved by the Union Government along with the reasons therefor; and

(f) the time by which all the projects are likely to be approved and funds are likely to be released therefor?

ANSWER

(a) to (c): The Government of Maharashtra has submitted a project proposal – Development and enhancement of various tourist destinations including Vijaydurg, Devgad, Malvan, Vengurla, Sawantwadi, Amboli, Yashwant Garh, Tilari, Nivti Quilla, Nivti Beach, Terekhol Creek, Karli Creek etc. in the Coastal Region of Sindhudurg District of State of Maharashtra.

(d): The details of projects sanctioned under the Swadesh Darshan scheme during the year 2014-15 and 2015-16 are annexed.

(e) & (f): The Ministry of Tourism provides Central Financial Assistance (CFA) to State Governments/Union Territory Administrations, for various tourism projects subject to availability of funds, inter-se priority, liquidation of utilization certificates and adherence to the relevant scheme guidelines.
