Swimmers must exercise caution when doing their turns at the shallow end.

MEET TIMES:Saturday - Warm Ups: 9:00

- Start: 10:00 am

Sunday - Warm Ups: 8:00

* NOTE:Start times may change due to the number of entries.

ELIGIBILITY:a)All swimmers must be registered “competitive” with Swimming/Natation Canada (SNC), U.S. Swimming or FINA affiliate.

b)Para Swimmers who are registered with a FINA or IPC affiliate are welcome and will be seeded according to their entry time.

c)Only swimmers seven (7) years of age and older may compete.

COMPETITION: a)Current SNC rules apply except as specifically modified herein.

b)IPC rules will be followed for Para swimmers competing in the meet.

c)Age groups based on age of swimmer as of JUNE 20, 2015.

Female: 10 & Under; 11-12, 13- 14, and 15 & Over.

Male: 11 & Under, 12-13, 14-15 and 16 & Over

d)All events will be timed finals

SEEDING:Individual events will be seeded by age categories and swum slowest to fastest.

*The 400 Free will be senior seeded by gender and may be limited to 32 entries per gender at the discretion of meet management. Should the entries exceed the limit, the Swim Sask AA standard may be a dequalifying time. If a swimmer is removed from the 400 free, the coach will be notified and the swimmer will be allowed to enter another event.

START:a)The FINA Start shall be used for all events as per SNC RULE SW 4.

b)Due to time constraints, swimmers MAY BE REQUIRED TO REMAIN IN THE WATER at the completion of their swim to allow for the next heat to begin. Swimmers must stay alongside the lane markers. Swimmers WILL NOT be required to stay in the water for the Backstroke or Relay Events.

SCRATCHES: a)Scratches from heats simply create empty lanes, as there shall be no reseeding.

Scratches from heats may be made at any time without penalty except for loss of entry fee. Clubs are requested to report any scratches 45 minutes prior to the start of the session on the day the event is to be held.

Scratch forms will be available in the coach’s package or with the clerk of course.

b) A coaches meeting will be held 30 minutes prior to the start of each day’s competition. Please arrange for a coach or representative to attend. 2nd floor Officials Room - NatatoriumBuilding

PROTESTS:As per SNC RULE GR 9.2.

ENTRIES:a) There are no qualifying times to enter into this meet.

c) SNC 9-digit registration numbers MUST be submitted for each swimmer. Meet management will not be responsible for obtaining missing registration numbers.

d) Times will be seeded first by long course, then short course and NT seeded last.

e)Swimmers are limited to a maximum of seven (7)individual events plus relays.

f)Swimmers are limited to a maximum of five (5) individualswims per day.

g) Meet management reserves the right to limit the number of entries in each event, as required to stay within the allotted pool time.

h) Meet management reserves the right to combine heats as necessary.

ENTRY FEES:$13.00 meet entry fee for each swimmer.

Make chequepayable to MJKFF. Entriesfees are due prior to the start of the swim meet.

Please bring your cheque to the entries person,prior to the start of warm-ups on SaturdayJune20th/15. You will receive your coaches/club packages when meet fees are received. Swimmers/clubs who have not paid their entry fees will not be permitted to swim until fees are paid.

DECK ENTRIES:Deck entries may be allowed at the discretion of the Meet Manager, only to fill empty lanes. Deck entries must be submitted to the Clerk of Course no later than 45 minutes before the start of the day in which the deck entered event is being swum. The cost of all deck entries is twice the normal fee as above. Deck entries will not be accepted without payment. Deck entries shall be classified as exhibition swims.

RELAYS:Each relay swimmer must swim in at least one (1) individual event in the meet

to participate on the relay.

The relays will be mixed gender, 2 male/2 female with the following age

categories:12 and Under; 13 and Over

There will be no diving at the shallow end of the pool, 2nd and 4th place relay

members must start in the water from a push.

Due to the relays being mixed and push start at the shallow end, relays are

considered exhibition swims and will not score

ENTRY DEADLINE: Clubs must submit entries by uploading their Hy-tek Entries File to the national

AWARDS:a)Overall performance individual awards:

  • For the high points award, a top scoring award will be awarded for 1st place female and 1st place male swimmer in each age category. An award will be given for 2nd and 3rd place female and male swimmers in each respective age category.

b) Ribbons will be awarded for 1st to 8th place in each individual event per age group and gender.

c) Relay Events:

  • The relays are fun swims to end the meet and are exhibition events. Therefore they will not score or qualify for any awards.

c)Plaques will be awarded for:

Large Club (51or more registered swimmers in club)

Small Club (50 or less swimmers registered in club)

Top team trophy(all participating clubs are eligible)

SCORING: Points will be awarded as follows:

a)For individual swims and team points the following scoring system will be used:

1st to 8thas 15, 10, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

RESULTS:a)Individual results will be reported for swimmers in the following age categories:

Female: 10& Under, 11-12, 13-14 and 15 & Over.

Male: 11 & Under, 12-13, 14-15 and 16 & Over.

Relays are exhibition swims with noofficial results posted

OFFICIAL SPLITS:

As per Swimming Canada Swimming Rule CSW 13.3.1.1 - Meet Management requires, that a coach

wishing to rely on a time achieved by a swimmer for an interval shorter than the total distance of the

event, must advise the Referee and Meet Management prior to the commencement of the event in

question will be held. Official Split requests must be submitted to the Meet Manager a minimum of ½

hour prior to the start of the session that the event is being held. The Official Split Request Form is

available through Meet Management or by downloading from the SNC site

Such official split shall then be reported as a separate event in the meet results.

COACHES MEETING: 2nd floor Officials Room - Natatorium Building

- May be held (30) thirty minutes prior to the start of any session, if required.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

a)The host club assumes no responsibility for valuables.

b) Visiting clubs are responsible for the conduct of their swimmers AT ALL TIMES. Swimmers caught vandalizing, using offensive language or pilfering will be disqualified from the meet.

c) The City of Moose Jaw Bylaws prohibits smoking in all areas of the pool.

d) The host club reserves the right to sell merchandise.

e)Your cooperation is requested in helping officials provide quiet for the start of each race.

g) Clubs are requested to keep their respective areas of the pool deck clean.

h) Glass containers/breakables are NOT ALLOWED on the pool deck.

i) Sunflower seeds are prohibited from the pool property.

j)No deck changing allowed. Swimmers must use the change rooms for changing.

k) Only swimmers registered in this meet are allowed in the pool, including warm ups.

MEET SAFETYCurrent Swimming Canada Warm-up Competition Safety Procedures will be in effect at this meet. See last page for full procedures.

“Swimmers must enter the pool safely. No swimmer shall enter the pool by a dive.

Entry into the pool must be feet first at all times during the warm up. During the last

30 minutes of warm up, Lane 1 and 8 will be used for starts and sprinting one way

deep to shallow end. An entrance dive is permitted and during this period, ONLY

ONE WAY SWIMMING IS ALLOWED. There will be no diving into the shallow

end of the pool.”.

Safety Marshals will be on deck during warm-ups.

IT IS THE COACHES RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE ALL SWIMMERS ARE AWARE OF AND ADHERE TO THIS SAFETY RULE AND TO ALL RULES OF THE FACILITY.

SWIMMING CANADA

COMPETITION WARM-UP SAFETY PROCEDURES

November 25, 2014

Meet Management for all sanctioned Canadian swimming competition must ensure the following safety procedures are applied. It is incumbent on coaches, swimmers, and officials to comply with these procedures during all scheduled warm-up periods. Coaches are requested to encourage swimmers to cooperate with Safety Marshals.

GENERAL WARM-UP:

  • Swimmers must enter the water FEET FIRST in a cautious manner, entering from a start or turn end only and from a standing or sitting position.
  • Running on the pool deck and running entries into the pool tank are prohibited.
  • Meet Management may designate the use of sprint or pace lanes during the scheduled warm-up time. Any such lane usage must be communicated either in pre-competition handout, announcement or deck signage.
  • Diving starts shall be permitted only in designated sprint lanes.
  • Only one-way swimming from the start end of sprint lanes is permitted.
  • Notices or barriers must be placed on starting blocks to indicate no diving during warm-up.

EQUIPMENT:

  • Kick Boards, Pull-Buoys, Ankle Bands, and Snorkels are permitted for use in the scheduled warm-up time.
  • Meet Management may permit use of tubing or cord assisted sprinting in designated lanes and during specific times of the warm-up only. Coaches are responsible for equipment reliability and use.
  • Hand paddles, drag chutes, and flippers / fins arenot permitted during any warm-up at any time.

VIOLATIONS:

  • Swimmers witnessed by a Safety Marshal diving or entering the water in a dangerous fashion will be removed without warning from their first event following the warm-up period in which the violation occurred.
  • In the case of a second offense during the same competition the swimmer will be removed from the competition in its entirety. A provincial disciplinary action or report may be filed.

SAFETY MARSHALS:

The Safety Marshal is a trained position designated by Meet Management. Safety Marshals shall:

  • Be visible by safety vest
  • Be situated at each end of the competition tank and when applicable, similarly situated in designated warm-up tanks when pre-competition warm-ups are scheduled.
  • Actively monitor all scheduled warm-up periods.
  • Ensure participants comply with warm-up safety procedures and report violations to the Referee.

PARA-SWIMMER NOTIFICATION:

Coaches are requested to notify Safety Marshals of any Para-swimmers participating in warm-ups where necessary and at the coach’s discretion.

The following statement must appear in all Swimming Canada sanctioned meet information and posted notices:

“SWIMMING CANADA WARM-UP COMPETITION SAFETY PROCEDURES WILL BE IN EFFECT AT THIS MEET.”
