/ Tosin Adebisi
Senior International Officer
Regional responsibilities: Africa and the Middle East

Tosin has responsibility for the international recruitment strategy in Africa and the Middle East. He also leads on customer relationship management (CRM) at the enquirer/pre-application stage of the student journey.
He is a graduate of the Robert Gordon University and Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) withanactive research interest in the psychology of work,specifically culture and cynicism.
Tosin joined the University in 2013 from University of Portsmouth where he worked for four years on key markets in Africa and West Asia.

As part of the East and South East Asia team, Luis has country responsibilities for Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Indonesia.
Luis joined the University in 2014 from the University of Kent and has six years of experience working in the Middle East, Latin American and the Caribbean markets.
Luis is originally from Venezuela and came to the UK to study International Relations and Politics at the University of Sheffield before becoming the International Students’ Officer in the University of Sheffield’s Student Union. Here he was responsible for a range of activities including the University’sInternational Week.

Asan International Partnerships Officer within the International Office, Peter supports the University’s international partnerships, which include alliances for student exchange and study abroad, student recruitment, international research and emerging institutional links that combine a number of collaborative initiatives. Under the direction of the Assistant Head (Strategic Partnerships),Peter works closely with international officers and regional leads, as well as academic and professional services staff, to take forward new partnerships and provide support to a range of projects. Peter joined the International Office in December 2013, having previously worked as the Executive Officerfor the Sussex International Summer School since 2009.

Cathy is a Sussex graduate, and worked in the UK recruitment team before moving tothe international team. She has experience in presenting and delivering workshops to students on all aspects of the application cycle.

Martin leads the International Office at Sussex, with strategic oversight for international recruitment, international partnerships, student and staff mobility. Since joining Sussex in 2011 Martin has restructured and expanded the international team to cover a wider diversity of markets including the openingofoverseas offices in China, Nigeria and Malaysia. In addition,Martin has been instrumental in establishing an on-campus intercultural annual event and undertaking pioneering work with the Guardian online in a feature called the Global Student.
Prior to joining the University of Sussex, Martin was Head of International Recruitment at the University of Roehampton working in markets throughout Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and Australasia. His work includes being shortlisted for a Times Higher Award for international marketing publications.
A graduate of Product Design from the University of Huddersfield, Martin is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and completed an MBA in Higher Education Management at the Institute of Education, University College London in 2012.

Katherine oversees the administration team within the International Office. The administration supports the operational activities related to the development of the University of Sussex’s international recruitment and partnerships. Part of the role includes assisting International Officers with the logistics of the overseas trips.
Katherine joined Sussex in 2008, previously working in administrative roles within both the private and public sectors. For the past 5 years she has worked as a member of the team as a PA & Events Coordinator and was recently promoted to manage the administration for the team as the International Office has changed its structure.

Siobhan leads on the International Marketing and Recruitment strategy in East and SouthEast Asia. Whilst overseeing the region as a whole, she has specific country responsibilities in China, and manages the China ProjectManager based in Beijing. Siobhanalso leads on theconversionstrategies for the International Office.
Siobhan joined the university in 2010 from the University of Reading and she has recruitment experience across most of Asia. Prior to joining the higher education sector, she was an English language teacher in Japan.She has a CIM Professional Diploma in International Marketing.

Amy is based in Beijing and is responsible for supporting the international team in the development and implementation of our marketing and recruitment strategy in China. Amy is focused on strengthening relationships with our key recruitment agents, institutional partners and alumni networks across China. Gathering market intelligence is also a key part of her role.
Amy joined the team in January 2013, having gained 10 years of experience in the sector, providing consulting service for Chinese Students planning to study in the UK. Her experience also includes two years working for a language school in Bournemouth.

Guy is responsible for International Marketing and Recruitment for Africa and the Middle East. As well as regular overseas trips to the region,his work involves building relationships with embassies and Cultural Attaché’s offices here in the UK. Guy regularly hosts visits from both private sponsorsand ministry representatives.He also leads on customer relationship management for overseas representatives.
Prior to joining the University of Sussex,Guy worked at the University of Southampton and Portsmouth University gaining experience in most aspects of the student life cycle.

John has been a part of the International team since 2006andleads on the International Marketing and Recruitment strategy in Central and South Asia (Indian sub-continent). Historically, he has worked in all the territories we actively cover except Latin America.Whilst overseeing the region as a whole, he has specific country responsibilities in India and Sri Lanka.
John also leads on the digital strategies for the International Office for example; our web site, social media presence, webinars, virtual exhibitions and video conference based events.
