EOSSAA Alpine Ski Meet

Schedule:

8:00-9:00 – Registration (race room – the old store to the right of the chalet)

9:00-9:15 – Coaches Meeting (race room)

9:15-9:30 – Officials Meeting: Starters, Recorders, Gatekeepers (race room)

9:45-10:15 – Slalom Course Inspection (bibs must be visible and racers must follow all protocol or be disqualified)

10:30-11:30 – Slalom [Girls HS, Boys HS, Girls Open, Boys Open]

11:30-12:15 – Lunch

12:15-12:45 – GS Course Inspection (bibs must be visible and racers must follow all protocol or be disqualified)

1:00-2:00 – GS [Girls HS, Boys HS, Girls Open, Boys Open]

2:00-2:30 – Course tear down (all athletes are expected to assist with tear down)

2:45 or ASAP – Awards Ceremony

Cost: $22.00 per racer (with a Calabogie Peaks Season Pass)

$47.00 per racer (without a Calabogie Peaks Season Pass)

1 free coach lift ticket per school

$25.00 per coach in excess of the 1 free per school

$25.00 lift tickets for parents/chaperones

No cost for volunteers

Cheques are to be made payable to RCI Student Council and must be presented at registration

Rules:

·  As per OFSAA regulations, skiers who receive coaching outside of their high school team coaching beyond the age of 11 will ski in the open division (this includes the Paterson race program).

·  Associations can register one complete team (5 racers) in each of the skiing categories (high school girls, high school boys, open girls, open boys).

·  Associations can also register 2 individuals in each of the four skiing categories (these individuals do not count towards the team points).

·  Medals will be given to the top 3 teams in each division and the top 3 individual racers in each division.

·  All participants (including student volunteers) MUST where approved alpine helmets AT ALL TIMES when on the hill. Failure to do so will result in removal of lift tickets and disqualification from the event.

·  OFSAA Code of Behaviour and Responsibility are applicable.

·  Only coaches and officials are allowed in the race room.

·  All teams MUST bring gatekeepers.

·  Coaches may be assigned race duties at the discretion of the event organizers.

Teams can be entered via e-mail (preferred) or fax up until midnight on the entry deadline (Thursday February 8, 2018). All entries should be made by the association convenor.

Please note: ALL teams must be entered into the AELS system as per OFSAA requirements. A printed and signed AELS team registration form must be provided to the race convenor(s) on the day of the event.
