Parent involvement is all about the children. Participation in your child’s education is proven to boost your child’s achievement in school. We are committed to treat parents as partners while keeping lines of communication open and focused on the needs of your child. Mutual trust and respect between parents and teachers is required to maintain a positive learning experience at any school. We believe that your trust in Canyon Springs STEM Academy is required to ensure your child’s success.

The transition from 6th grade to 7th grade can sometimes be overwhelming for some students. Please read the following information to help support your 7th grade student to be the most successful they can be in class and to be aware of what is expected of your student.

AGENDA

This item is the most important item your student will have with them throughout the school year. You will be able to see what your child is doing in ALL classes, as well as checking to see if they are missing assignments, any positive comments, and any behavior concerns.

Your student MUST have their agenda with them in every class, every day. They will write down what they are doing in every class.

BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS

  • The 7th-grade team expects all students to:
  • Be on time for class
  • Be prepared (writing utensils, paper, books, and other supplies)
  • Follow all Canyon Springs Rules

School Wide: All District Rules will be adhered to at Canyon Springs STEM Academy. Please refer to the DVUSD Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook. We believe that students must treat others with the same respect with which they are treated by the adults in our school. We also believe that student’s actions, dress, possessions, etc., must not cause a problem for themselves or anyone else.
