The Country Club of Terre Haute was founded in 1898 and continues to serve 345 member families in the West Central Indiana. The 18-hole championship golf course is a work of famous Midwest architect, William “Bill” Diddle, and is renowned for its spectacular beauty and challenges for players of all levels. The main clubhouse has been remodeled and updated multiple times and includes a casual dining room, cocktail lounge and bar, formal dining room, private dining room, and grand ballroom. The separate pro shop includes a golf shop, bag storage facilities and cart storage. Tennis facilities offer three Nova Grass tennis courts. Job Description
The General Manager supervises all aspects of operation of the Club including dining room, bar, kitchen, pool, tennis, golf, clubhouse and grounds maintenance. He/she ensures that members of the Club are continually satisfied with the operations of the Club and that they receive value for their dues dollar. The General Manager supervises all staff of the Club, coordinates activities and addresses all problems that require his/her attention. The General Manager is encouraging, motivating, and adept at training and guiding employees as they continue to develop their skills and increase their responsibility, and makes certain that the Club will continue to meet the high standards of performance expected by the members.
Candidate Qualifications
The successful applicant will have private club supervisory experience, banquet operations and beverage management, as well as strong leadership and staff development skills. He/ she will be detail and results oriented, possess strong cost-control skills, and outstanding oral and written communication skills. This posting will consider not only individuals with past experience as General Manager but also those individuals that have Assistant GM backgrounds and are looking for their first position as a General Manager.
