ENAAHTIG NORTH HEALING LODGE (LOCATION ALBAN, ONTARIO)

POSITION: PROGRAM RESOURCE SUPPORT WORKER(Maintenance)STATUS:FULL TIME YEAR ROUND POSITION ANNUAL RATE OF PAY; $34,000.00 plus $1,360.00 Vacation Pay with total per annum $35,360.00 GENEROUS BEDEFITS PKG. CLOSING DATE OF POSTING: Open Until Hired STARTDATE: As soon as possible

Summary: Under the overall supervision of the EHL&LC Executive Director and the direct supervision of the Enaahtig North Program Manager. The Program Resource Worker will be responsible for the maintaining of all outside program resources and grounds of the Enaahtig Healing Lodge and Learning Centre's property in the Alban, French River location according to the aims and objectives of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining all of Enaahtig outside resources and property
  • Maintaining all program buildings for optimal use, appearance and safety
  • Mowing of lawns in summer and snow blowing and shoveling of snow on pathways and decks.
  • Must have three or more years of experience in required job duties
  • Occasional Fire Keeping for Sweat lodge ceremonies (training available)
  • Keeping wood supplies and rocks available for sweat lodge ceremonies
  • Keeping the manager appraised of all work to be completed and gaining approval for all costs that are required before any purchases are made
  • Daily testing of water supply for chlorine levels and once month water samples to be tested for bacteria and taken to the labs in Sudbury. (training provided)
  • Emptying outside garbage receptacle to be taken to the onsite blue box or local dump site
  • Ability to make calls to the proper professionals i.e. snow removal when needed
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all clientele attending the healing lodge
  • Follow all policies and procedures of the Enaahtig organization

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 and or equivalent related work experience
  • Knowledge of Native Cultural Practices and Ceremonies (asset)
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle (mandatory)
  • Must provide recent CPIC (criminal background check mandatory)
