ZERT Functional Responsibilities

ZERT Security (BSO) Functional Responsibilities /
Duties / §  Provide a single point of communications for emergency responders in-route to the building
§  Provide information and direction to Emergency Response Providers[1] at the entrance of the building
§  Work with the Building Manager to lock down building when required as an emergency response
§  When requested by the HSO, assist with crowd control at the incident site
§  Stay in constant communication with the HSO updating on situation report of arriving emergency responders
Preparedness / §  Keep Contact Information current and available:
§  Coordinate / maintain contact information with the DGS Master Contact List
§  Carry all contact information on a mobile device
§  Maintain a hard copy of the contact information in a secure location, easily accessible during an event
§  Participate in scheduled exercises and drills
Capabilities / §  Work well under emergency situational pressure
§  Delegate and direct staff
§  Make command decisions
