Leadership Program

Inspired by the book “Leadership and Self-Deception – Getting Out of the Box”

Kerry is currently implementing this program at Actualize Consulting and it has been such a success that we are offering it as part of how to ensure all is awesome at work!

Background

The Arbinger Institute wrote this book to educate people on self-deception. Wikipedia defines self-deception as “the process of denying or rationalizing away the relevance, significance, or importance of opposing evidence and logical argument. Self-deception involves convincing oneself of a truth (or lack of truth) so that one does not reveal any self-knowledge of the deception.” The preface of the book states:

“Our experience in teaching about self-deception and its solution is that people find this knowledge liberating. It sharpens vision, reduces feelings of conflict, enlivens the desire for teamwork, redoubles accountability, magnifies the capacity to achieve results and deepens satisfaction and happiness.”

The book was published in 2000 and has continued to be a top seller. They have received feedback from readers on how the book has been applied. With the new edition published, the Arbinger Institute added examples of how businesses are leveraging the book and its contents, such as with applicant hiring and screening, leadership and team building, conflict resolution, accountability transformation and personal growth and development.

You can utilize these concepts with an enhanced self awareness in all capacities of your firm and help take your team to the next level!
