2014 FGR Women’s Lacrosse

Varsity Letter Criteria

It is our desire to have as many players as possible earn a varsity letter. Therefore the following criteria must be met to earn a letter:

·  Attend all team masses, games, and practices throughout the year. Excused absences must be approved by the Head Coach in advance and will be evaluated on an individual basis.

o  You must have at least 90% practice attendance overall and no more than one unexcused absence during the season.

·  Be a student in good standing throughout the lacrosse season.

o  Please work closely with your coaches to maintain academic eligibility. Becoming ineligible during the season does not disqualify you from earning a letter. Regaining eligibility is, however, required.

·  Conduct yourself in alignment with the mission and goals for Father Gabriel Richard High School. This conduct goes beyond the field of play. In order to earn a letter, you must maintain satisfactory conduct at school and in the community.

·  Play at least one play of a game on the varsity level.

o  We will do our best to play all players that make the team, however, we will keep the goals of the team as our guiding principle. It is possible, though unlikely, to make the team, never play, and fail to earn a Varsity letter.

·  All equipment and uniforms must be returned on time and in satisfactory condition for a person to remain eligible for a Varsity Letter. Any equipment not returned MUST be paid for.

o  Players will not be eligible to participate in any non-season activities, including conditioning, until this requirement is successfully met.

The Head Coach has the final say as to who does and does not earn a letter.
