Information Search Strategies

Students who are taking course PSY100 will be asked by U of T Mississauga Library to complete a voluntary questionnaire which is necessary to better understand student competencies related to locating, evaluating, and using information effectively. Basic demographic information (such as part-time or full-time status, primary field of study, year in school, gender) and student responses may be collected and retained for a period of one year, and this data will be used to target and plan instruction sessions and activities. In addition, the aggregate (de-personalized) data may be used for research and to make recommendations to your department regarding the information literacy needs of U of T Mississauga students.

We respect your confidentiality, and no personal identifying information will be used to describe the results of the questionnaire. You have the right to decline to answer any question or to discontinue participation at any time, and your decision to participate or not participate will not negatively impact you in any way; it will not affect your achievement in any U of T Mississauga course, or your admission to any U of T Mississauga program. If you have any questions regarding this questionnaire, please do not hesitate to contact Joanna Szurmak, Science Liaison Librarian at (905) 828 3882, Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre, Room 273, 3359 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, ON L5L 1C6.
