What Makes Planning by Kayla unique?
Planning by Kayla stands out in the sense that it is coming at this field of business with a new, fresh take. “As a young professional with a new business, this comes to my advantage, making me the best company in many ways. As a brand new business, I am not set in any ways that I feel uncomfortable changing. I have no established practices I insist on standing by. Therefore, I can create the business by what the market demands and what current trends are instead of trying to fit what clients are looking for into my preexisting structure.” –Kayla Kenefick
Kayla, a professional certified wedding and event planner has just begun her company as of last year, 2015. However, it has always been her passion. She has planned several events including weddings, baby showers, bridal showers, holiday parties, and corporate events throughout the past five years. Experience working with the most professional event planning companies such as the Avanti Mansion (voted best wedding venue 2012-2016 by the knot) and The Mansion on Delaware Avenue (rated best hotel and event venue in the Buffalo area in 2015) have given her the best professional knowledge and experience. Finally Kayla decided it was time to open her own company and put all of her talents, skills, and knack for planning events to good use.

You have questions-we have answers!(Commonly Asked Questions)
Q: How long have you been in the industry?
A: Although the company has only been open for about a year now, I have been in the industry itself for about 5 years.
Q: How many events have you done?
A: We have planned about 15 events since our recent opening less than one year ago.
Q: Are you certified?
A: Yes. It is a requirement for anyone who works for this company to obtain a certification.
Q: Can you give an example of when you had to be a quick thinker and avert a disaster during a wedding or event that you planned?
A: When planning a large event, it is not uncommon for something to go wrong. What matters as an event planner is that you are prepared to handle anything and everything. While planning an outdoor wedding last summer, it rained for a full week prior to the wedding-making the venue a monsoon. The couple insisted on waiting it out and hoping it would dry up. When the day arrived, we were mere hours away from the starting time of the reception and the venue was still a disaster. To avert this crisis, I called a local farm in the area and had them deliver hay and mulch they had stored, and distribute it all over the grounds of the venue. Problem solved! Everyone was able to enjoy (the perfectly sunny day, ironically) mess-free. Being able to think quickly on your feet is absolutely crucial as a wedding planner. Problems should be of no worry for a bridal couple with a wedding planner because they should always be prepared to handle any issue.
