MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
HELD ONTUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2018
A Special Meeting of the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Hamtramck, Wayne County, Michigan, was held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at6:30 p.m. in the AdministrationBuilding, 3201 Roosevelt. The meeting was called to order byVice-President Major at6:31 p.m.
Present:Members Major, Lukas, Hadwan, Obaid and Chowdhury
Absent:Members Srodek and Khan
COMMUNICATIONS
CLOSED SESSION
Motion by MemberObaid
Seconded by Member Lukas
RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,that the Board of Education go into Closed Session for discussion of the following items:
Expulsion Hearing for Student #70027328
Ayes:Members Major, Lukas, Hadwan, Obaid andChowdhury
Nays:None
Absent:Members Srodek and Khan
MOTION CARRIED.
The meeting went into Closed Session at6:32 p.m.
OPEN SESSION
Motion by MemberLukas
Seconded by Member Obaid
RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,that the Board of Education resumes in Open Session.
Ayes:Members Major, Lukas, Hadwan, Obaid andChowdhury
Nays:None
Absent:Members Srodek and Khan
MOTION CARRIED.
The meeting resumed in Open Session at6:43 p.m.
Suspension of Student #70027328
Motion by MemberObaid
Seconded by MemberLukas
RESOLVED, that the Board of Education does hereby expel student #70027328 from attending Hamtramck Public Schoolsfor a period of 180 days.

Nays:None
Absent:Members Srodek and Khan
