TOONZ VERSION 7.0 RELEASED
Digital Video S.p.A. announces the release of the new version 7.0 of its flagship product Toonz in its two editions: Toonz Harlequin, the 2D animation software for traditional and paperless animation productions, and Toonz Bravo, the ideal tool for paperless productions at an affordable price.
This new version provides at the same time new features to expand the creative possibilities of any computer-assisted animation productions, and new tools to boost the productivity of animation studios working on large and complex projects.
Among the new features we can point out:
- Plastic Tool
Along with the Raster and Vector tools, Toonz is proud to introduce the possibility to create a complete animation sequence using a single drawing. Building meshes and using skeleton structures, gives the user a way to make stretching and bending deformations with no need for drawing each pose. Just draw your character, apply the Plastic tool and bring it to life. A Stacking Order and Rigid element parameter, allows fine tuning on overlapping and non-bending sections. Working with sub-xsheets and animated levels, the tool can easily improve the animation of complex scene elements
- Scripting
ECMA Script support is now available. Using the Run script command and the Script Console window, it is now possible to run scripts allowing you to automatically perform different tasks.
- Merge TLVLevels
Merge the TLV columns selected in the Xsheet, creating a new TLV level that replaces the selection. Both xsheet timing and geometrical transformation are retained.
- File Conversion tools are improved
A new integrated interface brings new power to the convert file action, including the ability to convert full color images to TLV levels.
- New special FX available
A group of new effects joins the already consistent list of effects available in Toonz. Adding new functionalities as the erasing of small dirt and scratches, or creating simmetrically designed backgrounds, generating a raylit effect using the colours of the source image or Erode / Dilate the matte of the source image.
- Layer blending – multi source Fxs
Some of the Layer Blending FXs has now multiple sources, in this way it become easier reordering the levels of a scene one on top the other or apply an effect to more levels.
- Stereoscopic render
Using the z value of the scene elements and the Camera Shift parameter, this Render option creates two render sequences (right and left) that can be composited for building a 3d stereoscopic sequence.
- Message Center
A new panel is available for the rooms: the Message Center. In this panel you will find the log messages Toonz is sending to the user
Toonz Harlequin 7.0 and Toonz Bravo 7.0 are available for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7,
and Windows 8 running on 64-bit processors as well with dramatically improved software performance, and for Mac OS X 10.6 or later, with support for cross-platform projects.
