Class Standards, Expectations and Practices

  1. Bring and maintain a notebook (quad ruled comp book 9-3/4” x 7-1/2”) for everyday of class. This notebook is for class lectures, homework, sketches and assignments. It is to be your JOURNAL/ for the class. IT MUST BE AN INDEPENDENT NOTEBOOK. Its maintenance and accuracy is very important to your success in class, it is a reference manual for quizzes (See Grading Schedule).
  1. Teacher planning time is before school, 7:30 to 8:15. This time is for questions and makeup work. ANY after school time has to be scheduled and arranged prior to expected use of that time.
  1. It is your responsibility to USE PROPERLY AND MAINTAIN your supplies for this class. Tools for the classes will be handed out, adequate for a semesters use, with exception to: YOU must supply graph comp book (1/4” rule typ.) 9 3/4” x 7 1/2” and Mechanical DRAFTING Pencils (with metal lead shield)of .9, .7 and .5 mm (I like “Pentel” brand “Twist Erase”).

  1. Participation: You will need to participate in class. It is a major portion of your grade. (See Grading Schedule) SHOW UP, DO YOUR WORK! Points are awarded daily.
  2. Attendance:

Tardiness-You are tardy after class starts until ten (10) minutes after class is scheduled to begin. After 10 minutes, a tardy entry slip from the office will be required. Tardiness will affect your grade. (See Grading Schedule)

Unexcused Absences- You will not be allowed to make up work.

Excused Absences- You will be able to make up work. Arrange for time during teachers planning period, before school, or after school.Seniors(18 y.o.)- doctors’ note required!

  1. Respect, honor and courtesy are required in this class. This is a professional class setting, other attitudes and behavior will not be tolerated, and will affect your grade. SEE your Student Handbook regarding further information in regards to the creation and maintenance of an environment of respect and courtesy for all.
  1. NO FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED IN CLASS (water only- bottles and containers with lids allowed).
  1. You may not leave the classroom confines during class. However, permission from the instructor will be granted to one at a time for bathroom breaks. You must have permission to walk out of the classroom.
  1. Personal technology items are expected to be turned off and stored away in class. (See student handbook)
  1. Computer Use – See specific District and Classroom use rules.–––
  1. Safety-see class specific “Safety Requirements”. This is worth a portion of your grade. (See Grading Schedule).
  1. Sanitary-It is OUR responsibility to maintain a safe and working environment at all times.
  1. Cleanup- I will notify class when it is “quitting time”.
