You will talk with one of your brother/sister’s friends about his/her likes, dislikes, favorite past times and personal information. Then, you will write an email to one of your friends, introducing your brother/sister’s friend to him/her.

Description of Task:

You and your family are going on vacation to visit friends in Panama City. You will be staying with these friends and will spend a lot of time with their daughters, Daniela and Michelle. Read the interview to learn about their likes, dislikes, favorite pastimes and personal information. Record the information in a notebook so that you can write an article in your school newspaper when you get home.

Description of Task:

You will have 10 minutes to conceptualize and orally develop the following role-play with your partner. You will have a conversation with another student. You will play the role of the sister/brother. Your partner will play the role of the friend. You can not write anything on a piece of paper. The conversation must be at least 3 to 4 minutes long.

Situation:

Your sister’s boyfriend or your brother’s girlfriend is coming for the first time to the U.S from Panama City. They met 3 years ago during a student exchange program in Panama. They have been dating since. You have not met the person yet. Your brother or sister is asking for an opinion. Since you don’t know anything about the other person, you can not make up your mind. Therefore, you will have a conversation with this person to find out more things about his or her life. I will suggest a list of personal information things such as manners, taste for food, favorite things to do, culture, family relationships, likes and dislikes, and point of view that will help you to create and formulate important questions to complete your task
