Tipp City Pee Wee Football

Parent & Player Code of Conduct and Information

Welcome to Tipp City Pee Wee Football!

We are delighted that your child is interested in learning and playing football with our program. This packet is designed to relate pertinent information about the overall expectations, practices, and games. Your child’s coaching staff will contact you over the summer about our practice schedule that will begin in late July.

We are very proud of this organization that serves over 180 students and is a part of the SWBL. Our program is governed by a board, which meets monthly starting in February and continuing throughout the season.

We are expecting a great season. We are looking for our players to display commitment, dependability, a positive attitude, but above all, respect for each other, their coaches and the board.

Tipp City Pee Wee Football

Policies and Procedures

Please read the following very carefully, as the coaching staff will abide by our expectations.

League

Our league falls under the rules of the SWBL and we are a competitive football organization that works toward playing for a spot in the SWBL playoffs and the SWBL Super bowl at the end of each regular season.

Role Models

Football players are role models for the community. Please remember to be respectful to all. We expect good sportsmanship at all times. Don’t forget that yourepresent your grade level and someone is always observing you.

Great Attitude

Is a must! The coaching staff intends to challenge your child to learn drills, football plays, and positive sportsmanship. However, none of this is possible unless you remember that a great attitude goes a long way and makes more responsible student athletes.

Registration

In order to play football, we need your registration form, fee, Tipp City Pee Wee release, SWBL release (SWBL Release will be handed out beginning of season), and rules of conduct form. First time players will need a copy of their birth certificate. This is required and is an SWBL rule.

Physicals

You may NOT practice or play football unless the coaching staff has received your CURRENT physical form on the FIRST day of practice. A sports form can be found on our website at Please complete your physical over the summer. If you do not have your completed physical form as indicated, then you will NOT practice until it is turned in. This will be enforced!

Parents

Tipp City Pee Wee Football is a volunteer organization and we do require parent participation at all home games. This is the only way we can be successful. Positions will be made available to you by your Team Mom. You will be required to work during one or more of our home games.

Selection of Coaches

Anyone desiring to coach will be required to complete a resume that includes coaching experience, reasons for wanting to coach, as well as any special training they have had, for example, CPR training. The applications will be reviewed and voted on by the board. Though desirable, it is not necessary that the coach have previous football experience. Assistant coaches will be placed by the head coach and voted on by the board. No self-invited coaches please.

Coach Behavior

Demeaning, verbally, or physically abusive behavior will not be tolerated. Coaches will be held accountable for their actions. Any coach engaging in such behavior will be subject to dismissal from the program. Coaches in violation will receive a verbal warning, then written warning from the board, followed by dismissal from program for at least one year.

Every coach is expected to strive to develop the skills of each participant and to educate the players on specific skills to succeed. Development of sportsmanship is a critical component to the entire program. Coaches are expected to conduct themselves professionally to achieve this goal.

Parent/Player Behavior

All parents/players are expected to promote good sportsmanship. Any parent/player acting vulgar, disruptive, or is physically abusive with a player, coach, board member or another parent will be held accountable and will be removed from the program as we have a zero tolerance policy. First offense parent will not be allowed at practice or game. Second offense the child will be removed from the team for one year. No parents contact or side line coaching during practice or at any games. By signing this you are signing for both parents and any family member or friend that may come to a game or practice. ______Initial

Practice Expectations

Attendance

Coming to practices is very important. It is required by the SWBL that all players condition for a certain number of days prior to wearing pads. Players are expected to attend all practices or notify team coaches of their absences. Absences may result in a reduction of playing time and can result in removal from the team. It is also very important to attend practices to learn plays and build our team spirit. Coaches can bench any player it player that is habitually late or missed practices. Again, this is for the safety of our players.______Initial

Schedules

Practices will begin in late July and location may vary for each team. Practice is normally every Monday-Friday up until school starts, then it will be every Monday-Thursday. Saturday practice may be called by each team’s coach. Please try to avoid scheduling other activities on those days to avoid conflicting schedules. Thank you.

Attire

Football practice pants, jersey, pads, and helmet with chin strap and mouth piece are expected to be worn along with full gear. Your child will wear t-shirt and shorts during conditioning practice in the beginning of the season with their football cleats, helmets, chin strap and mouth pieces.

Punctuality

Football players are expected to be on the field, completely dressed and ready at the start of practice. Also, it is very important that parents pick up their football players at the end of practice on time. All of our coaches are volunteers and need to get home to their families.

Food

Eat light before attending practice. Don’t forget to bring a large water bottle.

Hydration

Please be sure your football player drinks plenty of water during the day. It is extremely important that the players are hydrated before they get to practice, especially on hot summer/early fall days. Waiting until practice to drink water is too late.

Website

We have created a website with pertinent information regarding upcoming games, directions, and stats. The website is tippcitypeeweefootball.com.

Player Development

All players will be developed by the coaches to reach their potential. Please remember all kids are different, develop at different times, and have different athletic abilities. The coaches will pick your child’s position based on his abilities as well as what is best for the team. Coaches can bench any player it player is habitually late or absent.

Game Expectations

Attendance

You must be on time to practice before each game. The time before the game is to review plays and stretch to prevent injury.

Uniform

Must be worn at each game and player must wear helmet and shoulder pads issued by Tipp City Pee Wee Football for safety reasons.

Playing time

Playing time will be determined by the player’s attitude, performance on and off the field, and attendance during practices. Absences during the practice week prior to each game may result in a reduction of playing time. This is for the safety of our players. Your child may play more or less than other team mates on their team as we do not make cuts. We are a competitive football organization. ______Initial

Picture and Videos

Parents can take pictures and record games from the stand however; must get permission for each game to be on the field from the board to be on the field.

Chain of Command

Any parent or coach that has concerns with the program must address these concerns with the head coach first. These discussions must be respectful as the board will not tolerate any threatening confrontations toward coaches. Such actions may result in your child being removed from the team. If the concerns are not resolved by discussing them with the coach, then they may be brought to the President or Vice President. Final decision will rest with the President or Vice President, with the board’s approval. At no time is an individual allowed to petition an issue on practice or game fields. Contacting the SWBL is not allowed per SWBL rules. All parties involved must look at what is in the best interest of the kids and this program, and must also promote good sportsmanship among all teams, coaches, board members, and parents.______Initial
