Parent/Teen Highway Safety Summit

Who: South Carolina Highway Patrol and Families of Highway Fatalities in partnership with Lexington County Sheriff’s Office, Lexington Police Department; LRADAC; and Lexington One Community Coalition (LOCC); Lexington County School District One.

What: Parent/Teen Safety Summit. Keeping your children safe on the highways.

Where: Lexington Town Hall, 111 Maiden Lane

When: August 29, at 6:30 p.m.

Why: Motor vehicle collisions are the leading killers of young people. Keeping our children and teens safe on the highways is a priority for us all. We want to bring parents/caregivers and teens together to talk with them candidly about risks they face in a motor vehicle; resisting peer pressure; enforcement of underage drinking laws; and to hear from parents who have lost a child in a motor vehicle collision.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol invites you to help save a teen-ager’s life. Bring your teen-ager, grandchild, neighbor or friend for this informative community-wide event. This forum is not limited to Lexington County. It is open to anyone interested in motor vehicle safety. To help us gauge attendance, please let us know how many will be attending with you by e-mailing or by calling 803-896-7920.
