The centre is to include the following items:

Note: We reserve the right to adjust/vary the tender specification and to remove or add individual elements as necessary, to meet the requirements of any budgetary constraints.

We reserve the right to seek other third party tenders for specific elements of this tender document, in particular, though not exclusively, those items numbered 15 to 20.

5Historical interpretation panels (main wall displays)

Create 11 equal sections of each 1100mm wide x 3000mm high

Cladding panel (this brief) for all 11 sections onto exiting wall and or creation of wall sections as per plan provided, please see below:

Onto this cladding is secured a continuous batten framework, which creates asplit batten effect, raising the graphic panels from the flat wall surface. And ontothis new framework are then hung the graphic panels to the followingspecification, they hang butting to each other, no gaps:

5mm Foamex matt laminated wrapped graphic (all edges wrapped) x 11 (eleven)

Each panel 1150mm wide x 2440mm high (approx) and secured to batten framework.

Onto the surface area now exposed above and below the main graphic panel, is Diabond kicker (1100mm wide x 350mm high – 300mm visible only) and above isgraphic panel (1100mm wide x 300mm high – 260mm visible only), 3mm Foamexwrapped edges.

Both surface mounted to cladded wall sections.

5aHalo lighting behind graphic panels (Note: the backlighting is an optional extra)

Halo lighting to graphic panels x 11.

Halo lighting in behind graphic panels each currently estimated at 1100mm wide x 2400mm high

These dims will all be checked prior to production and final specification.

Graphic panels are to be battened from wall at approx. 60mm standoff

They are sheeted onto MDF panels to take fluorescent tubes top and bottom, therefore 2 x tubes per vertical panel, halo top and bottom only (fitted, hardwired via electrician).

Production spec: fluorescent lighting to rear of graphic panels to create halo effect (top and bottom only)

Note:The effectiveness of this will be dependent on brightness of selected lamp versus brightness of room. Successful vendor to discuss this with the Foundation, should the lighting be considered necessary and given the go ahead).

To fit the 1100mm wide panels, 3’ fluorescents (914.4mm wide each) are recommended

Blade-styledisplay (a 2-sided display system)

Freestanding Octanorm display structure curved ‘around’ existing pillar. Twosided enclosed structure created.

Two x curved walls which attach together using Octanorm S260 couplingspiggots into Octanorm 250 hunged uprights. No base required as the twosides back onto/secure onto each other.

Matt anodised aluminium finish.

3mm Foamex infill panels x 8 (eight) each at approx. 2114mm wide x 994mm high and direct print

Graphics can interchange, blade remains in situ but can be moved to another location. Please bear in mind that the integrity of the unit is partly established by it wrapping around a column.

20Painting external windows on Victoria Street/Gordon Street, and door on Victoria Street side

Paint ground and first/second floor window frames on the historic façades on the Victoria Street and Gordon Street side (see picture below) and door on Victoria Street side, in appropriate, durable exterior gloss paint in colour selected by the client. Not painting windows on new ‘extension’ part of the building on the Gordon Street side is not required.

1 undercoat and 2 top coats required.
