Cutting and sewing

Streamers (body color)
Cut strips 4” x WoF (40”-42”)
Fold fabric strip lengthwise in half, right side together, sew with ¼ inch seam allowance.
Roll seam to the middle and iron seams open.
Mark every 10” and sew one end into a diagonal tip.
Cut fusible interfacing in strips of 1¾” x 9½”also with a diagonal cut on one end.
Follow instructions for fusible interfacing and fuse pieces to the marked fabric strip, right on top of the opened seam.
Cut the 10” pieces apart with a 1/4” seam allowance on the tip.
Turn pieces inside out. Use flat tool (skinny ruler) for turning, and a pointy tool to form a fine tip. Iron flat and set aside.

Middle Flare(light shade of body color)
Cut and sew as for streamers, but sew the tip of the middle flare even pointed with the tip in the middle.
Iron the text strip (T-shirt transfer) according instruction on the package to the front of the flare. Make sure you set your printer to T-shirt Transfer printing or Reverse printing.

Rosette(in body color)
Cut 2 - 4” strips, fold lengthwise in half, iron.
Cross cut in half (makes 4 pieces).
Run two stitching lines with a strong thread andloose tension on the top thread, one less than ¼”, the other 3/8” away from the open edge.
Knot two loose ends of threads together and pull on the other end to gather the fabric gentle, even. but as much as possible. The rosette will naturally form in a circle. Secure this end with a knot, too.

Button(light shade of body color)
Cut 4 - 4” circles.
Cut out the logo from T-shirt transfer, place in the middle of the circle and iron according instruction on the package.
Cut 8 batting circles slightly smaller than the lid. Stack two batting circles on top of each other and keep them in place with a dot of glue (can be glue stick, or Roxanne’s glue basting, or even small dots of white Elmer’s, depends a bit of what kind of batting scraps you use)
Sew by hand a running stitch with a doubled thread around the circle like for a Yo-Yo.
Place the canning lid onto the fabric, keeping the logo in the middle and pull the thread of the Yo-Yo closed, secure the ends.

Assembly
Using the template, place middle flare and hot-glue the button to the top of the middle flare.
Lay out the rosette, the two ends just touching at the lower end of the circle, use weights to hold it in place. Apply hot glue to the button/flare and press onto the rosette. The ends of the rosette should be covered by the middle flare.
Place streamers on template, apply hot glue only on the top part and place rosette according the template.
Let it cool.
Cut cord into 4 ½” pieces and form a loop with a knot.
Turn the almost finished ribbon face down and secure the knot of the loop with hot glue at the edge of the rusching.
From cardstock cut 4 circles the same size as canning lids, hot glue to thebackside of the rosette.

----- Safety WARNING -----
These instructions include a lot of work with a hot glue gun. Please, be careful with the glue gun, the hot and molten glue and parts which are freshly glued together. It takes quite some time to cool down.
