Guidelines

At all times, one person must be in the playground, or in the event of an accident, the school could be held liable.

The Governors and Teachers value the provision of a daily hot meal service and wish to encourage its take up. To achieve this aim we need to make the atmosphere in the dining hall as attractive as possible. Children will become bored and restless if waiting about. It is not desirable for the children to eat in silence but they should be encouraged to talk quietly. The children will not respond it always `told off’. For `minor’ infringements a laugh and a joke can be more effective. There should be a partnership between Midday Meals Supervisors and Cooks in maintaining the discipline and happy atmosphere in the dining hall.

The teacher will visit the hall each day to assist. Sometimes they will eat with the children. The seating is the responsibility of the teachers. If you think a child needs to be moved please consult a member of staff.
