Group 6: FutureForce Nebraska

Context / The mission for FutureForce Nebraska is: To facilitate effective collaboration among employers, education, economic and workforce development resources to support a well educated, highly skilled workforce for Nebraska.
This round of work focuses on the ‘big picture’ for the organization.
Objective / The objective of this round of work is to develop a Value Proposition for FutureForce Nebraska.
Process / Small Group Activity
In your group, develop a value proposition for the organization FutureForce Nebraska. Use the following questions to stimulate your dialog and to develop your output:
  • Why does FutureForce Nebraska exist?

Group 5: The Talent Pipeline

Context / FutureForce Nebraska has four major focuses of work. One of those is the Talent Pipeline. The FutureForce Nebraska Talent Pipeline project is comprised of seven career pathways and has its origins in the States Career Clusters model. Career clusters identify pathways from secondary school to two- and four-year colleges, graduate school, and the workplace so students can learn in school what they can do in the future and adults can transition and learn about entry points into the workforce. This connection to future goals motivates students to work harder and enroll in more rigorous courses.
This round of work focuses on the ‘big picture’ for this specific pillar of work.

Context / FutureForce Nebraska has four major focuses of work. One of those is the Think Nebraska. FutureForce Nebraska coordinates the Think Nebraska! program which encourages middle and high school students to become better prepared for college and work options by increasing rigor and relevance in their course selection. Think Nebraska! is built on the foundation of a strong business/education partnership. Local business people participate with schools in their community by helping students understand career and financial benefits of taking a rigorous course of study.
This round of work focuses on the ‘big picture’ for this pillar of work.

Context / FutureForce Nebraska has four major focuses of work. One of those is the Nebraska Career Connections. FutureForce Nebraska is a supporting partner in the Nebraska Career Connections website which is the central online location for career, job, education, planning, and training resources designed for Nebraska. Nebraska Career Connections includes skills assessments, work values inventory and career and life skills assessments.
This round of work focuses on the ‘big picture’ for this pillar of work.

Context / FutureForce Nebraska has four major focuses of work. One of those is called Partnerships for Innovation. Partnerships for Innovation (PFI) is a new consortium structure aimed at building statewide systems to accomplish program improvement and increased student achievement while meeting the requirements of the 2006 Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act (Perkins IV). The Partnerships for Innovation provides an opportunity to reduce the burden on local institutions to each develop their own approaches to statewide agreements, technical skill assessments, data and accountability systems, and strategic professional development approaches in isolation.
This round of work focuses on the ‘big picture’ for this pillar of work.
