Notes:
‘Champions’ arePolice Community Support Officers (unless otherwise indicated)and are NPT specialists who drive local activity on watch issues. They are not solely responsible for all watch groups but will (with support from colleagues, and other watch groups);
- Recruit support and maintain ‘area coordinator’ & ‘mentor roles’.
- Have primary responsibility for supply of information to coordinators regarding neighbourhood issues.
- Involve watch members in identification of, and activities to address community issues.
Support is provided to Neighbourhood Policing Teams on ‘Watch’ issues by area based (Basic Command Unit) Community safety Teams (Community Safety Officers), and HQ Community Safety Dept (Safer & Stronger Communities manager).
For enquiries relating to watch issues, please call 101, and ask for an officer identified above relevant to your location.
