Lane Garrett, Chairman, opened the meeting with introductions. There were 14 members and 7 guests present at this meeting.

Obligatory Statement - Lane presented the obligatory slides from IEEE regarding patents in standards and inappropriate topics for working group meetings.

Minutes/Agenda – The Atlanta 2009 working group meeting minutes and the agenda of the Kansas City meeting were approved.

Arc Flash Update – Marcia Eblen provided a brief update on Arc Flash testing required by NESC. APRI is conducting the tests and the final report can be purchased for $30,000. Marcia will provide summary of work completed on the same subject by Standard IEEE 1584 to the WG members

Assignments

Marcia Eblen will write additions to the body of the standard regarding best practices of installing TPG’s with reference to the Annex X
Phil Atwater will edit the Annex X to reflect the changes proposed by Marcia
Dan Laird will rewrite section 5.4.2 on Grounding Switches

Review of Draft 2

Reviewed Phil’s comments on sections 3,4,5. The sections 6,8 were not reviewed by the WG at this meeting. Lane asked the WG to read Phil’s comments on sections 6 and 8, and comment during the internal ballot.

Proposed Time Line

Have complete Draft 3 including all changes by the end of August, 2009
Conduct internal ballot in September, 2009
Submit the standard for the ballot after October 2009 meeting in Nashville.

Please submitall assignments by July 15, 2009 to the secretary at , so that the secretary will have time to prepare the next draft for the internal ballot.

All documents including the latest draft are accessible on the web Select SCD0, then select WGD4, then select Protected Files. The password at this time is “lane”.

If you will experience any problems please proceed as follows:

Go into Internet Explorer.
Click on "Tools" (at the top of the screen)
Find "Internet Options" at the bottom of the pull-down list and click on it
At the far right will be a tab marked "Advanced", click on it
You will see boxes on the left with text to the left of them - some boxes are checked, others are not. Scroll down halfway through this list and you will see "Use Passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem compatibility)". This box should be UNCHECKED. If it is checked, uncheck it by clicking on it.

Close this down and go back and try to get into the ftp site. Hopefully, this will fix the problem and you will be able to access the site.

The date and time of the fall meeting in Nashville will be announced.
