Position Purpose: / The Consultant Physician provides medical services to Werribee Mercy Hospital (WMH) and participates in the on-call service on a rotational basis. The academic dimension is as Clinical Academic and Medicine Discipline lead for the University of Notre Dame Australia, Melbourne Clinical School.
Qualifications & Requirements: / ¨  Registered with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (reimbursed by WMH).
¨  Fellowship in the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), or equivalent
¨  Be able to demonstrate evidence of scope of clinical practice.
¨  Current professional indemnity insurance.
¨  Ideally to have a higher degree by research and / or active research interest.

TEACHING AND RESEARCH / ¨  Effective delivery of UNDA Medical curriculum
¨  Liaison with UNDA Head of Discipline in Medicine for the School of Medicine, Sydney
¨  Day to day organisation and supervision of 3rd year medical student programme at WMH.
¨  To cooperate with the Director of Research for UNDA Melbourne Clinical School in developing a research programme / ¨  Meet with the students at least weekly for debriefing.
¨  Provide at least one 1-2 hour session of clinical bed side teaching each week.
¨  Provide both formative and summative assessment.
¨  Occasional participation in Back to Base day teaching sessions in Medicine.
¨  Liaise with other teachers of 3rd and 4th year students in their medicine placements.
¨  Participate in Medicine Discipline at UNDA including curriculum improvement processes and exam question preparation
