Ballard Petroleum is an oil and gas producer located in Billings, MT who purchased Jordan Production in May, 2005. While working as a Production Tech, I was responsible for the reporting of all daily production, inventories, and oil sales which were in excess of 50,000 barrels per month. I created Excel Spread Sheets complete with mathematical formulas, used to complete the required reporting to the Wyoming Oil & Gas Conservation Commission.

As the Office Manager for Jordan Production, a Lease Operating Company contracted by Ballard Petroleum, my responsibilities were all aspects of bookkeeping including payroll, billing, payables, bank reconciliations, and daily functions of maintaining an office. I created the Chart of Accounts in Quickbooks to track all expenses, income, vehicle costs, and sales tax reporting. I attended monthly meetings with the Accountant and Bank Officer regarding Profit and Loss Statements and Balance Sheets, so that Jordan Production remained a profitable entity.

The duties for this position was primarily complete cycle Accounts Receivable from invoicing, daily deposits, daily inventories, monthly billing statements, and extensive month end reporting to Corporate Headquarters located in St. Paul, MN. I was responsible for the plant’s Customer Aging Reports, Average Cost and Margin Reporting, verifying they met projected budgets, reconciled customers’ accounts, and collections of unpaid balances. I also maintained daily office functions by routing Truck Drivers and Service calls to customers. Payroll and Accounts Payable required coding and data entry and were processed from the corporate office.

All payroll was generated from the Wyoming office, although the corporation was headed in Denver, CO. Therefore, the main responsibility was processing bi-weekly payroll for over one hundred hourly employees from data entry, to check run, verifying all overtime, bonus pay, subsistence, driving pay, and all necessary deductions. I completed all Workman’s Compensation reports, payments and claims, quarterly SUTA and FUTA reports, disputed unnecessary unemployment claims, and processed over seven hundred year end W-2 forms. Additionally, I completed Bit Reports, Morning Rig Operations reports and Rig Expense Reports for the Drilling Superintendent.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

Society of Petroleum Engineers – Powder River Basin Section, Scholarship Chairman 2005. As a member of the SPE since 2001, I helped to organize the Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament raising over $12,000 each year so that the local students may achieve their higher educational goals. After four years of serving on the Tournament Committee, I was then elected as the Scholarship Chairman responsible for the distribution of funds to eligible recipients.
