Minutes
-Call to Order
-The meeting was called to order at 10:34am by Paula Myers. The meeting was held off site at Paula Myers house. It was attended by Jody Tempel, Cecelia Lowe, Liz Williams, Shar Yorgey, Shawn Jacobs, Pam McGill, Claudia de Oliveria, Tina Meng, Wendy Mazzoco, Grace Wright, Cyndi Maijala, Yoko Cannestra, Zinnia Wilson, Barbara Tom, Lisa Elliott, Shar Sardi.
-Approval of the November 17, 2011 minutes
-Wendy Mazzocco moved to approve the November 17, 2011 minutes. Tina Meng seconded the motion and the motion passed.
-President’s Report
-Speaker, Lisa Medoff, was well received. She might be a good option for the 8th grade speaker for Attitudes for Achievement.
-Principal's Report
-Lisa Medoff would like to come back and talk to teachers
o Ms. Maijala discussed with the teachers the importance of keeping their books/grades current so kids know where they stand in their class.
o Bret Harte is the top school for parents using the grade viewer.
o Bret Harte will be a pilot for electronically scheduling classes.
o School starts Jan. 3. It is an inservice day for secondary schools. Grades are due Tuesday. If there are any problems please contact teachers about grades.
-Committee Updates
- Request for Funds-
-Additional RFFs for gift cards for 4 PE teachers.
-Amendment to Mrs. Sanchez’s RFF for airport express. We approved for $40 but the cost is actually $107. Ms. Maijala said the kids really enjoy the airport express. Ms. Sanchez can access music from anywhere in the class from her iPad or laptop.
-Shar Yorgey motioned to approve the additional cost of the airport express. Shar Sardi seconded the motion and the motion passed.
o Cecelia Lowe motioned to approve the PE gift cards. Liz Williams seconded the motion and the motion passed. The money would come from SNAC funds.
· SNAC
-The school menu will be changing. Information is in the newsletter. It is the result of federal guidelines in nutrition. The pricing will be changing as well. Any questions please ask Jody Tempel. This will be starting on January 3rd.
· We will have to buy food now through school. Some prices will go up substantially. Now some items are being sold as meals not a la carte.
· There will be no Hot Chocolate.
Paula thanked all of the Board members for their work this year.
Starting in February/March we will be recruiting for next year.
In January we will start a group for recruiting.
