3rd international competition for young accordeonists
Kragujevac (Yugoslavia) 27th - 31st of March 2006.
Art. 1
Concert agency AD LIBITUM and Kragujevac Music School organize Third International competition for young accordeonists STAR WAYS 2006.
Competition will be organized in Kragujevac (Serbia) between March 27th and 31st .
Director of the competiiton is Prof. Radomir Tomic.
Art. 2
Competition is open for all accordeonists in following categories:
I a / piano accordion / competitors born on 1995 and youngerI b / button accordion / competitors born on 1995 and younger
I c / all types of accordions with FREE basses / competitors born on 1995 and younger
II a / piano accord / competitors born on 1993 and 1994
II b / button accordion / competitors born on 1993 and 1994
II c / all types of accordions with FREE basses / competitors born on 1993 and 1994
III a / piano accordion, pupils of primary music school / competitors born on 1991 and 1992
III b / button accordion, pupils of primary music school / competitors born on 1991 and 1992
III c / all types of accordions with FREE basses, pupils of primary music schools / competitors born on 1991 and 1992
III d / all types of accordions with FREE basses, pupils of secondary music schools / competitors born on 1991 and 1992
IV / all types of accordions / competitors born on 1989 and 1990
V / all types of accordions / competitors born on 1987 and 1988
Winners of STAR WAYS 2005 competition have not right to take part in STAR WAYS 2006 competition in the same categories.
Art. 3
For the competition competitors must to prepare free choice programmes :
Category I / 4 to 6 min.Category II / 6 to 8 min.
Category III / 8 to 12 min.
Category IV / 15 to 18 min.
Category V / I section, up to 15 min., with one piece composed before 1800
II section, up to 15 min, with minimum one original work for accordion
Art. 4
Members of jury , minimum 5 for each category, will be decided by organizer.
Members of jury are working independently and without any consultation with other members of jury. They have not right to put marks for own pupils !!!!
After first 5 participants in every category jury has a small break for conusltation and making the same marking criterions.
All competitors will be judged by marks between 50 and 100. Maximal and minimal marks will be eliminated . Average mark of all other marks is finally mark for every competitor. This marks will be used for making final rank list of the competition in each category. If two or more competitors have the same average mark youngest of them will be the best placed.
Performing (playing) time will be registered by Secretary of jury. Every competitor who will not respect time limit will be penalized (by Secretary of jury !!!) with reduction his/her average mark for 1 point for every minute out of time limit. Competitor who will play 3 or more minutes out of the time limit will be disqualified from the competition.
Results of the competition will be publiished maximum 30 minutes after finishing each category. Publishe rank list will include individual marks of all members of jury.
These marks are finally and can not be changed !!!!
Members of jury have duty to explain to every competitors (or his/her teacher) own marks !
Art. 5
All participants with marks 90.00 and more will get Diploma for 1st prize, participants with 80.00 and more will get Diploma for 2nd prize and participants with 70.00 and more will get Diplomas for 3rd prize. All other participants and all teachers will get Diplomas for taking part in the competition.
1st placed participant in any category will be awarded with a cup. If 1st placed competitiors have average marks 95.00 or more they will be awarded with special prizes:

Organizers do not cover travel expences to and from Krgaujevac.
Category / V / attendance to Castelfidardo competition in October 2006. (PIGINI prize).
Organizer ensures bus travel from and to Kragujevac and
cover board and lodging expences in Catelfidardo at LORETO hostel
First tree placed competitors must to play on evening concert after the competition. During the concert all diplomas will be hand over.
Winners in each category must to play on final concert.
Competitors who will not take part in this concert lose their special prizes !!!!

Entry fee for taking part in the competition is

Category V / 50 E
Abroad participants can pay entry fees when they arrtive in Kragujevac !!!
Art. 7
Travel and accommodation expenses has to be covered by competitors.
Organizer is ready to help to all interested competitors to find adequate accommodation during the competition in Kragujevac :
accomodation at private rooms (up to 7 E for a night)
accomodation at hotel up to 30 E
full pansion at hotel up to 50 E

All entered participants will be informed by March 15th about time table of the competition.
Playing number for each competitors will be public drawn out on evening concert day before the compettion. Participants (or their represents) should be present during the drawing out the playing numbers at Kragujevac Music School (Kneza Milosa 5) .
