At Wellmont Brent oversees the supply cost as well as leading a team in intersection of “Cost, Quality & Outcomes” with a supply budget of over $210,000,000.00.

CentraCare will be presenting their journey in continuous process improvement utilizing Lean concepts and methods in the Supply Chain for procurement and delivery of supplies.
Key concepts will include:
- A3 problem solving – What is it and how it is being used to build problem solving skills for front line leaders and staff
- Observation Dressing Change Video - Interactive opportunity to observe waste in Healthcare and be able to distinguish value-added from non-value added processes for patients
- 8 Wastes in Healthcare – What are they and how to recognize these and remove them
- Kanban Implementation – What is Kanban and how CentraCare is using Kanban to better manage inventory of supplies
Kedrowski has:

This program will review the three common sources of infection transmission, discuss the regulatory framework for infection prevention products and government approvals, present a checklist for evaluating infection prevention solutions, and a comprehensive discussion about the correlation between infection prevention and improvement in quality outcomes.
Objectives:
- Review the steps for creating a standardized value analysis process for evaluating infection prevention products regulated by the FDA and EPA
- Discuss the evidence-based practices for use of disinfectants, hand hygiene agents, and also skin antiseptic
- Review the correlation between patient safety and quality indicators, infection prevention products, and reimbursement
Dr. Hudson Garrett is currently employed as the Vice President, Clinical Affairs for PDI, and is responsible for the global clinical affairs program and also the Medical Science Liaison program for all divisions within the company. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry and Nursing, a dual Masters in Nursing and Public Health, a Post-Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner, a dual Post-Masters Certificate in Infection Prevention and Infection Control, and a PhD in Healthcare Administration and Policy. He has completed the Johns Hopkins Fellows Program in Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control, and the CDC Fundamentals of Healthcare Epidemiology program. He is board certified in family practice, critical care, vascular access, moderate sedation, and long term care.

Though Third-Party Freight Management was relatively late to catch on in Healthcare, the majority of medium and large IDNs by now have some form of managed program in place. Supply chain leaders may be surprised to learn, however, that they aren’t saving as much as they could be. This program will demonstrate how Healthcare Systems can leverage freight management to ensure they are maximizing their overall freight cost reduction potential.
Through his efforts as National Sales Representative for FDSI Logistics, Brian Ferris has quickly become a recognized leader in the world of Healthcare Freight Management. After earning a B.A. in International Business from University of Nebraska, Brian went on to cultivate nearly a decade of experience in Healthcare and Logistics. Over the last four years, Brian has effectively leveraged his expertise to deliver best-in-class freight management strategies to each of FDSI’s client-partners. Based out of FDSI’s Chicago Sales Office, Brian manages a wide range of Midwestern client needs, personally meeting with client healthcare staff on a regular basis. When not meeting with clients, Brian enjoys traveling and doing Crossfit.

The world of contracting is evolving in the healthcare supply chain. There is less dependence on GPOs and therefore hospitals must negotiate more on their own. That being the case we shall examine ways we can improve our performance by eliminating errors we often make.
By focusing on the following five areas we can smooth out our process and enjoy greater success:
- Better management of information
- Using time as an ally rather than an impedance
- Understanding power as opposed to fearing it
- Utilizing a BATNA in every negotiation
- Changing your style to accommodate the changes in the healthcare environment
Michael Bohon, CPSM, CMRP, is the Founding Principal of the HealthCare Solutions Bureau, a healthcare supply chain consulting company. His business background includes over 46 years in supply chain management including the last 27 in the healthcare industry.
He is a frequent speaker at national meetings and conferences. His articles on supply chain management, negotiation, facilities planning and other subjects have appeared in numerous national publications. He is an instructor for the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and has developed business and supply management courses for ISM and the University of Arizona. Mr. Bohon is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Participants willalso be exposed to some of the forces in the political and economic environment that affect the future of health care in the United States
David is currently the Director of Community &Government Relations for CentraCare Health. CentraCare is an integrated healthsystem serving 12 countiesin Central Minnesota providing a full continuum ofservices for over 600,000 residents.
David has been advocating with local, statewideand national leaders on behalf of CentraCare, its staff and citizens of CentralMinnesota since themid-1990’s. In that time, he has almost come to understandthe nuances of our health care system. He is reputed to have read all 2,400 pages of the originallegislation of the affordable care act although he quickly states that he hasmadeno effort to keep up with all 22,000+ pages of the regulations supporting thatlegislation.
He is proud to be the advocate for CentraCare, hiscolleagues and those they serve in Central Minnesota.
