Provide a brief description of the project and its activities:

NJCDC seeks funding to completely renovate the former storage building of the Rogers Locomotive Works into the State of New Jersey’s first LEED ("Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design") certified historic preservation and adaptive reuse project. The end use of the site will be to serve as an innovative conference and training space for community residents and regional businesses as well as an attraction for current and future visitors to the nation’s newest national park: the Great Falls National Historical Park. We estimate that this facility will serve at least 1,000 people per year and will serve as a hub for launching the nation's newest national park.

What outcomes are anticipated from completing the project and its activities?

Our aim is to transform this site into a meeting center, educational facility, and nationally significant attraction. By creating a landmark conference center and flexible community meeting space at the former Rogers Storage Building, NJCDC will encourage tourism, economic development and make meeting and conference space available to a wide variety of community, business, and civic groups. Our goal is to transform this historically significant building into a valuable community asset—one that takes advantage of, and proactively anticipates, the future renaissance awaiting Paterson.
