World Bank aided project (TNUDP)involved in the procurement of services for engaging consultants for various activities like, training programme, city corporate plan, integrated sanitation program, case studies, basic infrastructure need studies, preparation of terms of reference which includes scope of work, results expected, agreement conditions on time-frame, payment schedule, review committee and report finalization.

Liaison with the consultants, Executives and public elected representatives of municipalities, NGO’s and beneficiaries to make the program a success. The integrated sanitation programme comprises structure housing bathing, washing and toilet facilities, which include water supply, sewerage, and solid waste management. Authority for design, estimation and bill of quantities Quantity Surveying, scrutiny of measurements for the completed works. Presently under progress. Total project cost: US $ 12 millions.

Solid Waste Management – Instrumental in resorting the practice of door-to-door garbage collection in municipalities in Tamil Nadu, Pilot study of four municipalities under Integrated Solid Waste Management for investment required so as to effectively manage solid wastes generated. Pilot study of five municipalities under progress so as to install a common compost yard. World Bank workshop on Solid Waste Management conducted during November 1999.
