“Friendlies”

·  We may arrange for “friendlies” (Pekin/Peoria/Bloomington). These are games that do not cost us anything, other than a small amount for refs, but will help us prepare for our tournaments.

Costs

·  $XXX total approximately per player, excluding uniforms (includes a $50 refund if you work a total of four hours at the Blaze Tournament…see below) per season.

·  All fees are to be paid at the club wide fee payment night. The date and time will be communicated via email and will also be published on the website


Morton Blaze Tournament

·  The Morton Blaze Tournament cannot be successful without the help of all of us.

·  In order to get your prepaid $50 back, every family has to work a total of four hours during the tournament weekend (broken down in two – two hour shifts).

o  “Volunteer Opportunities” include set-up, take down, concessions, bathroom duty, parking lot attendants, trash and runners.

o  Our team is assigned various areas that fit into our play schedule.

o  The schedule will not come out until a few days before the Tournament, as we cannot set the volunteer schedule until the brackets are complete.

Uniforms

·  Each player needs the following:

o  Red Shirt (approx $29)

o  White Shirt (approx $29)

o  Shorts (approx $15)

o  Socks (approx $9/pr)

o  Training T-Shirts – one red & one white (Used for practices and friendlies) (approx $11.50 each)

o  Bag (optional) (approx $55)

Fundraisers

·  Each season, players can offset their fees by selling cookie dough. Please refer to the Blaze website for additional information.

·  The club may also participate in club wide fundraisers to offset training and equipment costs. More information on these fundraisers will be distributed when available.

·  Dwain Barker is our Director of Coaching

·  Blaze also has four trainers that are ICC soccer players.

Expectations of Coaches

·  Fun yet competitive

·  Safe

·  Teamwork

·  Communication (practices and games will all be on the website…you will receive auto reminder emails)

Expectation of Parents/Players

·  Punctual (Make practices and games a priority)

·  Communicate (We should always know if a player will be missing a practice or game!)

o  Bring issues forth, don’t let them fester, but no whining or complaining.

·  Support (positive comments only to players—both sides)

o  Limit ‘coaching from the side’

·  Respect

·  Effort (includes work on the side)
