Progressive Report on Medical Activities at B.L.K Muwonge S.S.S
Cissy Lugonja-Mubiru Enrolled Nurse, employed by B.L.K Muwonge Secondary School on October 14 2008 to assist the medical needs of the community
The following activities have been carried out in the school
- Counseling and guidance of the students on HIV/AIDS
- Personal Hygiene
- Behaviour changes on every Tuesday and Thursday
Treatment is given to sick student on a daily basis at Nabukalu Health Care Drug shop. It is situated at Kyabazaala Village
The Drugs supplied to the school from Canada included
- Tabs Acetaminophen
- Tabs Ibuprophen
- Tabs Multivitamins for Mothers and Children
- Anti – Diarrhea
- Antibiotics tubes (external use)
- Gloves, Cotton, Gauze, Syringes, Dettol
The drugs greatly assisted in disease control for four months
The most prevalent diseases include:
- Malaria
- Pneumonia
- Simple cuts – Wounds
- Worms
- …diseases
- STD’S????
- Asthma
Hence, the need to include the following drugs for proper disease control and treatment.
- All types of oral Antibiotics for example: Amoxyl – Peu V, Cipro – Septin etc
- Anti Malarial Drugs for example Coteim Quinine Chloroquine
- Instruments for dressing
- Cotton/Gauze
Achievements
I have managed to give treatment of some diseases like malaria, wounds and Pneumonia
I have been able to successfully counsel and guide the students on various issues like:
- HIV/AIDS
- Personal Hygiene
- Good Discipline
I have easily …..?? with the students
The major challenges encountered are:
- The [availability of] drugs to cover all the prevalent diseases throughout the year.
- The increase in enrolled students at the school due to the government mandate of Universal Secondary Education program.
- Although I possess a motorcycle, my problem is the fuel to enable me to travel to and from the school on Tuesdays and Thursdays

An increase of drugs to allow for proper control and treatment of diseases

I sincerely thank the Canadian Community for the drugs provided to the community and especially the B.L.K Muwonge Secondary School and for the prompt monthly salary provided to me.
My profound thanks to the Headmaster of the school and all staff members for the excellent cooperation rendered to me and the wonderful discipline instilled in the students. This has made the counseling and guidance an easy job for me.
