New Mentor Application 2017-2018


Students selected to serve as SEASSPAN mentors must be in good disciplinary and academic standing at the time of application and remain in good standing throughout their time as mentors. Students serving as SEASSPAN mentors who do not follow GW’s Code of Student Conduct, Code of Academic Integrity, or the SEASSPAN Code of Conduct Agreement risk being dismissed from the SEASSPAN program. Students must also have and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.

Applicants should email their finished applications and all associated documents in one email to . Please make the subject line of the email “New Mentor App, [Last Name, First Name]”.

After we have determined that you are in good standing with the university, we will notify you via email to select a time for a group interview.

*If you will be studying abroad during the Spring 2017 semester, please indicate so in the Background section of the application. We will contact you to set up a video interview*

Applications are due by 11:59 pm on February 1, 2017.

The recommendation can be a professor (SEAS or non-SEAS), a SEAS advising staff member, a Teaching or Learning Assistant, or a past/present SEASSPAN mentor. Most importantly the person providing the recommendation should be able to speak to your leadership, dependability, and interpersonal skills.

Please be sure to let your recommender know that the deadline to complete this recommendation is February 1, 2017.
