Fluency Passages I Hope the Links Will Continue to Work

Fluency Passages – I hope the links will continue to work. They are connected to my old website. When it is discontinued, I will have to set up something else. Click on the links below and then click again when you get to my old page.

Please have your child read thepassage for the weekfor one minute.

Print a copy for you to mark errors on and a copy for your child to read. Put a slash over words read incorrectly. Mark the last word read with a ]. Subtract errors made from the total words per minute and record this final score. This is a “cold read”, meaning they do not practice before reading to you.

Then,have your child retell you what they read for another 60 seconds. Please add the # of words in your child’s retell at the top of the page.

Remember, our goal for the end of the year is 100 WPM with 50 words of retell.

Please return the passage you mark errors on by the due date listed.

Make sure your child’s name is on the passage and please sign your name. Thanks so much for helping your child to reach the second grade benchmark! 

~You read the words correctly.

~You noticed punctuation.

~You remembered what you read.
